Dank Weather
Weather at Lightning Speed
Free
New in 2.1: a forecast at each station from the GFS, ECMWF, HRRR and more. iPhone Duo support
Dank Weather shows the weather where it is being measured: personal weather stations, airport METARs and flood gauges on the DankWeather network, updating live as each reading arrives. Every number is a real reading from a real sensor, stamped with how long ago it landed. The forecast has a page of its own and never stands in for a reading.
Pick a station and it is on your home screen in seconds: the temperature right now, what it feels like, today's high and low, and a chart of the last 24 hours. Swipe between your favorites.
THREE WAYS TO LOOK AT IT
• Cards: hero temperature, a labeled 24-hour chart, and a card for each thing the station measures.
• Ledger: an instrument panel, one row per reading with a 24-hour trace.
• Dial: one big instrument with a compass ring, wind pointer, rain and air quality arcs, and the temperature in the middle.
GO DEEPER ON ANY READING
Tap a card for its page: Temperature, Humidity, Wind, Rain, Air Quality, Barometer, UV Index and Solar. Each charts the last day, week, month or year; drag across it to read any point. Then the numbers that matter: the peak gust and when it blew, the prevailing wind, rain this event and this year, the 3-hour pressure trend, dew point comfort, UV advice, the day's solar energy. Share any page as a text summary with a link to the station.
AIRPORTS AND FLOOD GAUGES
• Airports: the METAR as sent, with the flight category, visibility and ceiling.
• Flood gauges: the stage and flood category up front, with top of bank, flood stage and how fast the water is rising or falling.
A FORECAST AT THE STATION
• The GFS at each outdoor station's own spot, out to 16 days: each day's high and low, rain and snow by type, wind and gusts, and sea-level pressure.
• The station's own readings on the same charts, to see how the forecast is lining up.
• Pick another model wherever it reaches: ECMWF and its AI model, NOAA's HRRR and RRFS, Germany's ICON, Canada's models or the National Blend of Models.
• The next days on the home screen in every layout, a tap from the full forecast.
STAYS WITH YOU
• Live Activity: follow a station on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. It updates with every reading, not on a schedule.
• Widgets: home screen widgets in three sizes and Lock Screen widgets for temperature, feels like, humidity, wind, air quality and UV, with an age label that keeps counting. On iOS 26 they update as new readings arrive.
• Apple Watch: the station on your wrist, refreshed every minute while you look. Complications for sixteen readings, from feels like to UV and solar, and dials for Infograph and other bezel faces with readings curved across the top. Temperature gauges span the last 24 hours, colored by temperature.
• Stale alerts: a notification when a station you care about stops reporting.
FIND STATIONS
The first time you open the app, it can find the stations nearest you. After that, search by name, browse airports and flood gauges, or use Near me. The map shows every station in view with its temperature, rain, air quality or wind, updating in place.
AIR QUALITY YOU CAN TRUST
The AQI is computed from the sensor's own PM2.5 with the EPA's 2024 breakpoints, the same table the DankWeather website uses, so the number here is the number there.
YOUR UNITS
Fahrenheit or Celsius. mph, km/h or knots. Inches or millimeters. inHg, hPa or mbar. Whole degrees or tenths. Charts as bars or a line.
BUILT FOR IPHONE DUO AND IPAD
Open iPhone Duo and the app becomes two pages: the station on the right, and the stations list, the forecast or any reading beside it on the left. On iPad, the cards stay phone-sized and centered, never stretched.
