Turn CSV data into interactive 2D and 3D graphs, including surfaces, contours, wireframes, points, bubbles, bars, vectors, lines, and meshes.
Graph-R is a macOS application for visualizing numerical data from CSV (comma-separated values) files as interactive 2D and 3D graphs.
Supported graph types include:
• Surfaces with contour coloring
• Contour lines and wireframes
• Point and scatter plots, bubbles, bars, vectors, and lines
• Grid and non-grid data
• User-defined meshes and multiple graphs
Customize face and line styles, colors, line widths, point and bubble sizes, section lines, axes, linear or logarithmic scales, scale planes, legends, frequency distributions, and titles. Rotate, pan, and zoom using the mouse, trackpad, keyboard, or toolbar, and switch quickly to standard views.
Graph-R can also open STL, Wavefront OBJ, and VRML files. VRML support is limited to IndexedFaceSet data containing triangles or quadrilaterals. Export graphs as PNG or JPEG images, or copy them to the clipboard. Display settings can be saved and reused with other data.
For details about CSV data formats and examples, choose Manual or Sample Data from the Help menu.
Requires macOS 14.0 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon.

Works fine
EdoRoshi
This is a RFM product, but works great. The manual provides a sample for each type of graph showing how to make the spread sheet. The software works by the user first creating a spreadsheet in Numbers (or any spreadsheet application), then exporting it as a .CSV file. Then the .CSV file is directly opened in Graph-R and the graph is generated. Then there are a number of modifications that can control color, size, orientation, and more or less all features of the graph. It also creates 2-D views of the 3-D graph. The color coding is very helpful, particularly for complicated graphs. I like this product and for me is was very useful.
Great Product for 3D Surface Charts

Wonderful product. I needed to plot 3D surface charts based on optimization results captured in a spreadsheet. Graph-R is very easy to use and worked very well for my purposes. This was much simpler than using R or Gnuplot to plot my data. Support for the product is also exceptional. I contacted the developer when I initially had a syntax issue. I received a response in less than a day, correcting my issue. I highly recommend this product.
wonderful useful app out of the box

a little gitch getting started due to the 2 extra keyword lines needed on top of a traditional x,y,z csv file, but immediately useful after that.the doc was fairly clear about this but for a quick start:just add these 2 lines on top of a standard 3 column x,y,z file that already has headersDataFormat,2 <-- line addedMemo1 <-- line added and i think this can be any textx,y,z <-- your orig headersa surprise and delight feature is that it automatically moves the axis grid planes to the back of the apparent view when you are rotating so that they dont get in the way of your surface data, coool man....has contoured surface including greyscale contour and wireframe surface, and seemingly more that i havent explored yet but this is greaaaat. so much quicker than typing code in python or whatever other command line thing for this type of stuff. apple should have fixed up their old equation surface displayer to do this a long time ago to show surfaces from data, but this does the trick. looking forward to digging into the various other options i havent found yet!oh yeah just checked out the sectioning tool, also very cool. a little tricky to set up but if you play with the numbers a bit, you can figure what they are doing. will read the manual eventually...
CSV needs to be formatted to use.

I would like this program a lot more if I didn’t have to format the csv data and header to display it in this program. Rows with points, Columns with dimensions. I don’t see why the csv needs a header, and if it does why I can’t have it generate it.
Developer Response
With the new version of app, header of cvs file is unnecessary. Please try using the new version.
- Migrated the rendering engine from OpenGL to Metal.
- Updated Graph-R for macOS 14.0 or later on Macs with Apple silicon.
