I’ve been an ardent music fan for all of my life who’s been on a never ending quest for the best iOS based Music Player with Audiphile capabilities. Enter Pentaton, a stellar Music App with a Pro Level EQ and you’ve got magic. The Developer is very responsive as I requested the capability to add my iPhone’s Music Library to their Pentaton App and, DONE! The UI does need additional modern UX and, playback features with functuional tweeks but, with the Pro level EQ, there’s not a better sounding Music App for iOS, less the Subscription others require in the App Store. Keep coding and adding new, cutting edge features like Single or Repeat All, and an AI feature set as you’re out in front of the rest of the pack by a Country Mile!

ive used pentaton now for maybe 6 months? i was looking for a way that i could play the music library i own without having to push through multiple ads and streaming landing pages. ive mostly switched back to my 2009 vid ipod for music, but i did want a "bridge" app (for lack of a better term) that i could play my synced library on my phone also if i wanted to. this has fit the bill perfectly. it has all the most simple and necessary functions of a music player. it looks very similar to the way the original itunes organized things, and easily syncs your itunes music. it is SHOCKING how difficult it is to find something that just lets you play your music, and as far as i can tell, this is the only one. 5 stars.

Pentaton is an absolute gem and nails the basics to perfection. Decoding of lossless files is bit‑perfect and completely transparent. Also has no trouble cleanly sending tracks to my external DAC including my DSD collection. I appreciate that it streams directly from my server without wasting time importing or reorganizing files. No unnecessary features, no distractions just a pure, beautifully executed player that does the most important thing it needs to do and does it flawlessly. The interface is elegant and refined, with just the right amount of polish and tasteful animation to feel premium without being flashy. Hands down the new iOS standard for modern minimalist music playback.

This app is so good! If all you want is a way to listen to your personal music collection on your phone, this app is basically the best. However, it is very opinionated and minimal, in mostly good ways. No playback options (no repeat, shuffle, etc), no playlists, no queuing of any sort. It’s all about the ALBUM and that’s what makes this app beautiful. But it does need a bit more, doesn’t it? I would like to queue at least 1 album, especially during my commute or road trips. Even my car stereo can hold 4 CDs at a time… The app also doesn’t save your playback state, so if the app is ever unloaded from the phones memory for any reason while a song is paused, the app loses any trace of what you were listening to and you have to start again from scratch. A small bug I hope gets fixed soon!
