The Pocket offline dictionary now has stroke order, handwriting search, a Reader, a Complete Pack and a way to remove ads.
- Offline dictionary: about 39,000 words covering JLPT N5–N1, searchable in Japanese, Myanmar and English without a connection.
- Stroke order: open a kanji in Pocket and tap play to watch its strokes drawn in order, with stroke numbers. Large, easy-to-tap buttons let you go back or forward one stroke at a time, play or pause, and replay. With Reduce Motion turned on, the strokes are shown at once, numbered.
- Handwriting: tap the pen button in the Pocket search box and draw a kanji with your finger. Tap a match to add it to your search. Your strokes show clearly on a calm, easy-to-read pad, and it works without a connection.
- Reader: paste Japanese text and tap any word to see its meaning, even offline. Every account includes 50 free Reader passages.
- Remove ads: one purchase hides ads on every device signed in to your account.
- Complete Pack: the offline dictionary, the Reader and no ads in one purchase.
- Free allowance: every account includes 100 free offline searches and 50 free Reader passages. Purchases are one-time, follow your Shiraberukun account, and can be restored.
- Tap a kanji in a result to see every kanji of the word with readings, strokes, parts and example words.
- Look up online: a word that is not in the offline dictionary now opens straight in the online dictionary.
- Saved words from the online dictionary, including AI search answers, show their meanings more cleanly in Pocket bookmarks.
- Stroke data comes from KanjiVG; the credit and links are under each animation and in Sources & licences.
