I’ve had this app for many months, and have sold and bought countless fragrances. Here are some things to know; first of all, there is a 15 dollar delivery and authentication fee for everything you buy, so it’s very difficult to sell/buy cheaper perfumes. Secondly, there is a 20% fee after you sell a fragrance, so there’s a weird thing where buyers offer very low because they know they have to add on the $15 no matter what, and sellers unwilling to lower their prices because they know that 20% of it will be taken. That’s the biggest “issue” of the app right now, as well as some minor bugs that are constantly being fixed. However, the Rescented team is extremely good at communicating, and they are super helpful. They’ve answered so many of my questions and helped me to become a star seller of the app. I’m seeing complaints of buyers offering the lowest they can, and that will not change, but I promise there are serious buyers… you may just have to be patient (I’ve sold 20+ already and bought 17+). I’ve gotten deals that are so good, I still can’t believe it. This is a great idea for an app, and obviously it’s not gonna be perfect, but be patient, and you will find some great deals and be able to sell your collection. Amazing app, and amazing customer service, 5/5.

Overall Rescented is a great app for buying and selling cologne, however there are a few improvements that I believe will make the app amazing. First off is being able to add descriptions to listings, second would be to expand titles of items that are being sold (when people list bundles or multiple fragrances the titles get cut off). I’d also like a feature where users can follow and message each other, adding a feature where you can add multiple items to cart from a single user for a discount would also be great. Lastly, listings usually get buried within a day, adding a promote feature would both benefit the app (extra revenue) as well as the user (who will make sales quicker). All in all it’s a great app and I will continue to use it 🙏.

After spending more than I ever should on this app to help it get moving as a solid option for people in this hobby, I had an awful buying experience where I bought something and it wasn’t exactly what I expected and when I asked for my money back before it was even shipped by the seller, they refused to return it. Don’t get me wrong, I wish I’d done a better job pushing for details, but it’s wild to me that in a transaction where nothing has traded hands yet except for my money, I don’t have any control over that at all as a buyer. This came after a week prior having a seller be able to cancel their transaction with me after I made the purchase. Stay away unless you’re a seller. Their fees alone make the price on these worse than the typical markets you can find anywhere and have even better protection against fraud, plus you can actually talk to who you’re paying. Almost $400 down the drain because they can’t cancel a simple transaction where no harm or effort had been done yet. I bought it at 10pm and had a message out to them by 4 am the next day.

You are paying for security I suppose. The hope is that the person you are buying from or selling to will be honest, and there is some assurance there. That said, they charge an extra $20 to the buyer for shipping and take %20 from the seller. This affects both the buyer and seller negatively. Buyers will often make a bid and commit to purchasing, but then back out. While this could be for a number of reasons, I do wonder if it’s related to what happens once they see the charge for shipping. Also, there is no way to contact the buyer if you are a seller, or vice-Versa. Additionally, the folks at Rescented require sellers and buyers to use an app to transfer money, which also charges a fee for transferring the money into your bank account. So, a lot of extra people appear to be making a lot of money off of the transactions. Perhaps it is better to stick to other outlets until they adjust their charges.
