Mahjong is a captivating, classic tile-based strategy game originating from China, enjoyed worldwide for its blend of skill, luck, and tactical decision-making. Traditionally played by four players, Mahjong involves using a set of beautifully illustrated tiles, each displaying distinctive Chinese characters, symbols, and images, grouped into suits: bamboo, characters, circles, winds, dragons, and special bonus tiles known as flowers and seasons.
Gameplay begins with players receiving thirteen tiles each, aiming to form specific combinations known as melds—sets (three identical tiles) and runs (three consecutive tiles of the same suit). Players take turns drawing and discarding tiles, strategically building their hands to achieve Mahjong—completing their hand by forming four melds plus one pair. Victory requires careful planning, attentive observation of opponents' discarded tiles, and adaptability to changing game dynamics.
