I’ve been using Ollivate to stay on top of my CE requirements and I’m honestly impressed. Most CE platforms feel like a chore—just slides and PDFs—but this one actually keeps you engaged. The way it breaks things down, mixes up topics, and checks what you remember makes it way easier to retain the material without zoning out.It also doesn’t hurt that it’s super easy to use on your phone and actually tracks your progress in a way that feels motivating. You’re not just checking boxes—you’re actually learning. I’ve recommended it to a few coworkers already.

I like the concept of boards review as a game, but I do have some critiques of the app. - I don’t like having to guess what topic I’m working on. The app only displays a couple of letters for the topic. For example, pharmacology topics will show only “Anti-“… and you’re like, anti what? Antibiotics? Anticoagulants? Antiemetics? I keep waiting for this to be fixed. I wanted to work on neuromuscular blockers but could not find it. This greatly limits the app’s utility, IMO. - I don’t like that some of the questions seem to be AI-generated nonsense. Extremely verbose for no reason. It’s clear that a lot of the questions are not written by humans. - Some of the questions and rationales are not evidence-based. The app goes on and on about the risk of bronchospasm with histamine-2 antagonists. This is not a thing. I’ve literally given Pepcid thousands and thousands of times over my career, probably to many asthmatics, without issue. It’s not supported by literature. At all. - Many of the questions are very low-tier, and test only surface-level knowledge. Not the same level of complexity as APEX. - Over all, the app is a great concept, but seems like they got a little lazy.

This app has been great to supplement my studying as an SRNA. Questions are straight forward and test factual knowledge. Love the spaced repetition format as that’s proven to help with retention. All rationale is provided for each question with textbook resources that are common in anesthesia school. As another reviewer mentioned, you can’t see the entire subject when just hovering, but you can hold down on the tile and then see the entire name of the subject. I do wish there were discounts for students as the annual price is a bit steep.

I downloaded this just to check it out and ended up using it every day. The questions are solid, the game stuff keeps me coming back, and I actually remember what I studied. It’s way more fun than reading a book or scrolling PDFs. If you’re prepping for the SEE or NCE, this seriously helps.
