While there are/were some issues with the application not working, the developer has been fixing them. I first learned about this program from Reddit, and gave it a try. Even bought it. While I had some issues on my MBP 2016 (i9) … the issues were resolved. I use several programs for my video processing/restoration, etc. This one helps. As far as processing videos go, and upscaling to 4K, this app does a great job. The unsharp mask sharpens things up and if I have old B&W video (Yes, I am that old) … It does a passible job of colorizing. The author cobbled together a bunch of different things to come up with the app…and I give him Kudos. Even though you have apps that may cost you hundreds of dollars a year in licensing, give this little champ a go. It is taking 14 hours for this app to upscale and clean up some 2K video…. To 4K…. But other apps I have on my Hardware want to take much longer…. 37 days!
Does not open .MOV files from other sources

Not sure what sources are supported but my MOV files are grayed out. A bit of online help would be useful.
Developer Response
A good solution for files that can’t be read is to open them in QuickTime and save them again. The newly saved file uses different codec and license settings that are better supported for apps like Video Restore that use Apples video libraries in the system. Kindly drop me an email if you couldn’t resolve it.

Works well! Similar to upscaling photos in Pixelmator Pro, but applied to every frame of the video. Processing time depends on the video length. I stepped away from the computer, and it handled the video automatically in the background.
