How It Works
• Snap a Picture: Use your camera to capture the product name and details.
• Discover Hyper-Local Alternatives: If a product isn’t fully Canadian, we’ll suggest alternatives made by companies in your city or region so you can support businesses in your local community.
• Explore Coupons & Deals: Save money with exclusive offers from Canadian brands. We search the web and partner with local businesses to bring you the best discounts right inside the app.
• Where to Buy: Instantly find nearby retailers and online stores that carry the products and Canadian alternatives you’re looking for.
• See Through Corporate Layers: Many brands look Canadian but aren’t. We reveal hidden parent companies, foreign acquisitions, and ownership changes over time.
• Search Like a Pro: Looking for something specific? Our powerful search now lets you filter through 32,000+ products by country or province, making it easier than ever to find local gems.
Why Use Maple Scan?

At least part of the database must be relying on AI generated info because it cites Campbell’s Soup as a Product of Canada. Campbell’s closed their Canadian plant in 2018. The reason why I think it’s an AI fail is because it cites sources, but cites them abysmally wrong. The app tries to offer you Canadian alternatives to products, but the suggestions it gives you are often nonsensical or only tangentially relevant. Nice start, but not ready yet. You’ll end up buying American because of this app.
• Canadian Coupons & Deals – Our deals section just got a big upgrade. Explore exclusive discounts from over 1000+ connected Canadian brands, updated daily and ready for Black Friday!
• Bug Fixes & Improvements – We’ve made behind-the-scenes fixes to deliver a smoother, more polished experience.
