More of a sandbox than a simulator, but that’s actually what makes it great!

The game intentionally doesn’t include stuff like maintenance windows or other things that would make it overly complicated and hard to make profit, so it operates more like a sandbox than an actual simulator. That being said, this gives you so much more freedom to create the airline you want and keeps the money coming in fast enough that you can grow it. I have started, grown, and closed several airlines because it is just such a fun experience and I can’t put the game down. It retains enough (more than enough, really) realism to still feel like a real world thing, but gives you enough freedom that you can get creative and do things that wouldn’t always be profitable or thought of IRL (like, for example, why did I have an airline with a major international hub in Medellin, Colombia? It has a single runway and can’t handle widebodies irl. But in the game it sure can, and did!)Overall, it’s a great game and I can’t stop playing it. You don’t have to pay for anything to enjoy it, though I did purchase a few packs here and there. They’re a pretty good value. You get a certain amount of aircraft + cash (or you can get just cash) which really gives you a boost if you want it. But again, you can play the game fully without ever paying a cent, it just can feel slow sometimes if your airline isn’t profiting a lot.

This Airline Simulator is honestly stunning. The app design is clean, modern, and polished - you can instantly tell a seriously talented designer worked on this. Customization is on another level: creating your own aircraft liveries, designing airplane styles, and even making alliance feels intuitive and creative, not clunky or limited. The world simulation is massive, with real airports, real numbers, and an incredible sense of scale that makes everything feel alive. I love the competitive spirit built into the game, pushing you to grow smarter and faster while competing with airlines from all over the world. The diversity is also a huge win - real-world airlines mix perfectly with fictional ones, making the universe feel rich and dynamic. Frequent updates and constant new add-on features show the devs truly care and are actively evolving the game. This is one of those rare simulator games that keeps you hooked and excited every time you open it

For someone with real world airline experience, I find it this to be a pretty cool game. I love the options they have for custom livery designs. The latest option for premium economy adds another realistic feature. I rated this a 4/5 because obviously there is always room for improvement. I'd like to see the options for in-flight service (food/snack choices), some crew planning and hiring staff, the option for airport lounges. Something very important to me is that it's not in “real time” so you earn money faster. That said, they do have options for in-app purchases but I feel the way the game starts off and the rewards you have, they give you a very fair amount of playing time and options before you may want to start spending real money on game advancements, which is most important to me. Even with the in-app purchases, the prices are reasonable. I hope they keep it that way. They seem to be developing this app quickly and if they keep it up I see it going a long way. I look forward to seeing what they add next. Ad a ship nerd too, I wouldn't mind seeing a something in the realm of cruise ships in another game down the line.

For a while now I have wanted a good game in which I could start my own airline, and I am now quite certain that The Airline Simulator is the one I was looking for. The commercial airline industry has intrigued me for years, and I have had so many ideas for airline strategies that just might work - but nowhere to put them, until I got this game. Plenty of aircraft, every airport I could dream of flying to, and very realistic industry simulation. One issue I do have is the use of large amounts of AI generated content, which doesn’t really affect the gameplay overall, but does make the game feel cheaper. This is certainly one of the best games I play, and I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the commercial aviation industry.

This is certainly one of the best games I play, and I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the commercial aviation industry.
