Cohesive is one of those apps you're supposed to delete.
A digital detox with no blocking, no streaks, and no screen-time scores. You catch the doomscrolling; what you keep becomes a map of what you actually want.
You know the moment. The thumb already moving — the feed, one more episode, the 11pm scroll nobody planned. You catch it. That is the whole trigger.
Two taps: what you're doing, and what was around it. Then you choose. Save it and you're finished — logging it is a complete act on its own. Or look underneath it.
If you look, Cohesive asks one question at a time — the kind you answer by remembering something that happened, not by analyzing yourself. Each question comes with a few grounded suggestions you can edit, or you ignore them and write your own. When something real has surfaced, the session shows you everything you said, complete and unsorted, and offers at most three sentences worth keeping. Keep one. Say it your own way. Or keep nothing and be done — an honest close with nothing kept is a real ending, not a failure.
What you keep becomes your map: what you actually want, what you value, what you enjoy, what you reject — and the inherited beliefs and automatic patterns that keep moving you somewhere else.
The map is the point. Not a journal that wants feeding, not a lower screen-time number, and not a tidy collection of cards. It is how you work out the direction of your own life and author it, instead of running on everything you absorbed about who you were supposed to be.
Next time you catch yourself, Cohesive reads that moment against your map, so you pick up where you were instead of starting over.

WHAT IT REFUSES
No blocking. You own your phone, and locks never survived you anyway.
No streaks, no scores, no counters. A scrolled day is evidence, not a failure. No number anywhere in Cohesive summarizes your behavior.
No coach. Nothing starts a session but you. Home stays deliberately empty — no prompt, no summary, no status waiting for you.
No diagnosis. Cohesive never names what might be underneath. It asks; the verdict is yours, and "don't know yet" is a real answer that it leaves alone. Nothing reaches your map without you agreeing to the exact words.
No promise that you will consume less. That is not what this is for.
WHO IT IS FOR
Someone who catches their thumb moving without being sure they chose it — and who, underneath that, is not certain what they would rather be doing with the evening, the commute, or the years. Someone who wants a different relationship with their phone, without another lock to outwit.
Not for parental control, monitoring another person, punitive abstinence, or emergencies.
WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE
A screen in the app answers that in plain sentences, and you can read it before you have an account: what leaves your phone (the catch, the conversation, your map — nothing else), where it goes (Cohesive's servers, and the external model providers whose models write the questions), why, and the three narrow cases in which a person could ever read it.
Never sold. Never used to aim advertising at you — there is no advertising here. Never used to train public models. Nothing in the app is tuned to keep you in it longer. Export and deletion work whether or not you are paying.
WHAT IT COSTS
The first finding is free. No card, no clock: it is shown in full and it is yours to keep before money is ever mentioned. After that, one plan or the other: €14.99 per month, or €92.99 once. No annual plan, and nothing is charged unless you choose one. Your store shows you the exact charge, in your currency, before it takes anything.
