Super unique mash-up of old-school Zelda metroidvania and arcade-style bullet hell! It sounds odd at first but trust me, it really works! They created a really dense and interesting world, with loads of unique dungeons, secrets, interesting enemies, and surprising upgrades that allow the gameplay to meaningfully evolve. The touch controls are serviceable, but thankfully there is well-implemented controller support that makes the experience WAY better, especially on the harder difficulty. My one tiny little gripe is that that on-screen controls don’t disappear when you connect a controller, and there aren’t any opacity settings for the icons. Not a big enough issue to affect the review, but if you guys read this that would be a great QoL detail to add!

This I found on switch and it was a great game. It reminded me of Zelda for Super Nintendo link to past. Then I seen it coming to mobile and preordered it. It has to be one of the best games I have played this year. So if you want a really fun game to play on mobile then you should definitely try this and the price is very reasonable. I would have paid $10 for this on mobile. Thanks for making this on mobile to developers and maybe yall can make a sequel or even another game like it in future.

Update: getting towards the end of the game and the buttons are getting really hard to see beyond. When the screen is full of enemies, it’s really hard to see beyond all the buttons for the various powers. Original: This game is great, but when I have a Bluetooth controller connected, menus still often require touch controls and the touch controls remain on screen even while I’m using my controller which is more than a little annoying. In all honesty, this game is as close to five stars as you can get but if you’re playing with a controller, it really puts a damper on the experience.

I’d heard great things about it on Switch 2, but finally pulled the trigger once it came to iOS. So far I’m having a blast, touch controls work well enough so far (but I may use a controller once the difficulty picks up more). My one complaint is I wish it supported higher than 60fps. As someone who’s been gaming on iOS for over a decade, higher graphics options that current phones can’t support is always something I want. Makes the games more future proof.
