Bring the English book you’ve been meaning to read. We fixed opening books whose file had the wrong language label. More of the EPUBs you already own can join your library when the text itself is in a language you read.

Know every word, but still don’t get the sentence? Open Explain. Bookstar breaks down tricky phrases in plain English, shows what they really mean, and gives you a natural everyday example you can listen to. Tap Next to move through the phrases on the page. Your book stays in the original, with the translation right underneath.

More of your own books now open. Very long files, and books whose table of contents points at a single chapter, are split into pieces you can actually read. A translation is recognized by the language on the page, so an English edition of a French novel is treated as English. Reading starts at the story, past the title page and copyright.

Books edited in Calibre are more likely to open, even when the table of contents is incomplete. When the translation model is overloaded, the app says the load is temporary and the book itself is fine.
