I chose to recolor the exterior house trim, which worked great. However the app also changed the original wall color, so I’m not able to see exactly how it will look. It even changed the sidewalk which is perhaps a side effect of a smoothing algorithm. How can I have the app keep the wall color exactly the same and only change the trim color?
Developer Response
Hey Dave,Thanks for the review. The trim seems to be the hardest to perfect. Sometimes it works perfectly, and others it can shade the walls, or hallucinate extra trim. The image detection and generation technology is good, but not yet perfect. I’ll see if I can adjust the trim detection to support exteriors (I’d only tested with interiors), and I will continue to adopt the latest in AI image generation as improvements are made. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for using my app!Michael
Interested but have questions
EnigmaVariation
This looks like a very promising app to help me choose colors for my house. But I am interested in painting my house in two different complementary colors with the same trim for each color. Is there anyway to select one color for the top half of the house And a second color for the bottom half with a line of trim separating the two. It would be very useful to be able to select with your fingers the general area that you want painted in the color you choose so that you could choose to colors that would work well together. Also, it would be useful to know how to contact the developer with specific questions. What is the help procedure for this very inventive product?
Developer Response
Hi EnigmaVariation,Thank you for the feedback and kind words. Currently there’s no exact way to do what you’re asking for, but I’ll certainly consider adding this type of feature in the future as the technology evolves. You could paint trim first, save that picture, then paint the walls, but the split walls is a tricky problem.I’m working on a landing page as we speak with customer support links, but in the meantime, you can e-mail me at: v5cqpsj4e3u4@opayq.comKind regards,Michael
Lots of colors, not useful
G if ur units of kgkc
This app gives access to a lot of colors from different manufacturers. BUT it does not identify different elements in a picture effectively enough to let you change the color of a cabinet panel and a cabinet frame two different colors. In a single room, it only let you change the color of all the walls rather than having one wall, one color and having a different accent wall. It would be much better if I could tap on a photograph and then apply the color to the polygon where I wanted.
Developer Response
Hi G if ur units of kgkc,Thank you for your review. These are fair concerns and I’m sorry if this caused a frustration experience. The image generation technology is in its infancy and does great with walls, but occasionally has trouble with very particular spots like cabinet trim since it’s re-generating the image with the new colors. As the technology improves, I’ll continue to improve the app, and I’ll consider your suggestion to add a way to tap or select various areas of the image to apply the colors.Kind regards,Samuel
Couldn’t get app to add trim and door contrasting color to wall color preview
Livright 2016
Great app if you only want to see one color at a time on one festure (walls, trim, doors) Unfortunately I wasted a few credits trying to figure out how to keep the main color preview on the walls that I saved and add contrast colors to the doors and trim. I selected the correct functions for each but app kept switching back to my original picture. Very frustrating and no real instructions or help/faq section.
Developer Response
Hi Livright,Sorry for the frustration. Right now the only way to paint multiple times is to save the final image after the first painting (such as walls), and then do another image transformation from that image. Based on your experience, I’ll add a function to re-use the first transformation in a follow up painting so that you could paint walls, then trim, then doors. It’s a great use case.Trim can be really tricky, but the image generation technology continues to get better, so I’ll continue to add improvements as it does. Thanks for your candid review. I’m always trying to improve the app.Kind regards,Samuel
