Kounts in Malay Kounts now speaks Bahasa Melayu: the whole app, your widgets and Apple Watch. To switch, open Settings > Language and pick Bahasa Melayu. If your iPhone is already set to Malay, Kounts follows it. Just the photo Tap the photo on an event to hide the countdown and buttons. Pinch to zoom in on a ticket or a receipt. Tap again to bring it all back. Lock Kounts Turn on Lock Kounts in Settings > Privacy. Kounts then asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode when you open it. Pick how soon it locks after you leave. Free for everyone.

Themes Pick a theme in Settings > Theme. Almanac · Serif type on paper Iris · Clear, colorful glass Sketchbook · Ink lines on cream Hearth · Sunny color blocks Stilla · Quiet and minimal A theme also changes your widgets and the countdown on the Lock Screen. The new themes come with Premium, and you can try each one on your own event first. Kounts, the look you have now, stays free. Each theme keeps its own settings Pick an accent color and a font for each theme. Light and dark mode are on the theme screen now. Almanac and Sketchbook are light only. A medium countdown widget The event widget now comes in medium, with the event's picture and a progress ring. Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Secret countdowns Send someone a countdown they can't open yet. They see who it's from and how long is left. The title, photo and details stay hidden. You pick when it opens: when it starts, on a date, or when you reveal it. Ask for a reaction, and they can send back a photo or a 5-second video that only you see. To send one, tap Share, then People, then Keep it a secret. Sending one needs Premium. Opening one is free. A song for your event Edit an event and tap Song to pick one from Apple Music. On the day, tap Play the song to hear a short preview. Free, and you don't need an Apple Music subscription. A song in the birthday message When you write a birthday message, you can add a song too. Its link goes at the end of the message. Turn songs on or off in Settings > Apple Music. Video Games pack Kounts tells you when a game you follow gets a release date or its date moves. Tap a game to pick when it unlocks, like midnight, and the Lock Screen counts down the last 8 hours. There's a new Next releases widget too, and Most anticipated can show only your platforms. Also new Meter rail is now a free card style, like Classic. In Settings > Card style, you can try any other style on one of your events before you get Premium. You can also share your own categories with your Shared Space. Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Time zones An event can have its own time zone, so a concert in Berlin at 20:00 counts down to 20:00 Berlin time. Pick a place in another time zone and Kounts asks which time you mean. Several notes An event can have up to 5 notes, each with its own color. One note is free, color included. More notes need Premium. Category colors Pick your own color for Personal, Birthdays, Work and the other categories in Settings > Categories. New this week in your packs The Video Games and Movies packs now point out new titles, like a game that just got a release date. Turn on Suggestions from packs in Settings if you want a notification, at most one a week. Story shares A portrait photo now fills the whole story. Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Send a birthday message On the day, a birthday has a message ready to send, with a card to go with it. Edit the words, write in any of the 13 languages, and send both in Messages, WhatsApp or anywhere else. Free. Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Backgrounds made with Apple Intelligence • Create image: tap the photo chip when you add or edit an event and choose Create image. Image Playground opens with the event's name already filled in, and the picture you keep becomes the background. Free, on devices with Apple Intelligence. • Take photo: the same menu opens the camera, so you can point it at the invitation instead of opening Photos first. iPhone and iPad. • The same choices sit behind Use your own photo on an event's own screen. • Pin to top: touch and hold an event and choose Pin to top. It stays first in your list and in the list widgets until you unpin it or pin another one. Settings > Pinned event shows which one it is. • Help has a new answer on changing an event's background. • Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Depth effect and birthdays from your contacts • Depth effect: the count can now sit behind the people and pets in your photos, like the clock on the Lock Screen. It works with the Classic and Headline styles. With Premium it also shows on share images and on the Poster and Featured widgets. • Birthdays from Contacts: add the birthdays saved in your contacts in one go, each with the person's photo and age. It's in Settings on iPhone and iPad. • Adding a photo is quicker: tap Use your own photo on an event's screen instead of opening the edit form.

Video games, the iPhone Duo, and countdowns from a photo • Video Games pack: search for a game and count down to its release day, with the cover as the background. A game with no date announced waits on your list until there is one, and when the date moves the countdown moves with it. Names, dates and covers come from RAWG. • Most anticipated: the Video Games, TV Shows and Movies screens open on the ten titles most people are waiting for, each with its date and an Add button, so you can add one without searching. • Following opens on your own list: opening a pack from Following leads with the shows, films and games you already follow, with the search field above them. • iPhone Duo: open the phone and Kounts spreads out the way it does on iPad, with a sidebar and your events beside it. Fold it shut and the tab bar comes back. • Landscape on iPhone: the app turns with the phone now, on every screen. • A photo can become a countdown: pick a photo of a poster or an invitation and Kounts reads the name, the place and the date off it. The photo never leaves your phone. Needs iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence. • Widgets that fill the page: four of the widgets come in a size that takes up a whole home screen page, and the grid holds twelve events. Needs iOS 27. • The Live Activity turns with the phone, and reads better from across the room while it charges. Needs iOS 27. • Ask Siri by name: "when is Mum's birthday" now finds the event by its name. Sixteen new app icons, and a calendar made of your pictures • App icons: Midnight Gold, Black, Vintage, Blue, Green, Red, one for each season and six for the holidays. Settings > App Icon. Premium; the purple one stays free. • Icons that follow the calendar: leave Seasonal on and Kounts wears its Halloween icon before Halloween, then Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Valentine's and Easter, and puts yours back in between. • A calendar of your pictures: Timeline > Calendar has a second look. Tap the icon next to the month and every day with an event becomes a tile of that event's photo or artwork. Days with nothing on them keep their number. • Trips stretch across the days they cover, with the name along the bottom. A day inside a trip that has its own event keeps its own tile, so nothing hides underneath. • On the Mac as well: the same icon picker, and the same two calendar looks. • Haptics: the phone taps back when you save an event, tick a checklist item, and through the last hour of a countdown. It follows the System Haptics switch. • A pack's purchase screen no longer waits forever when the App Store is slow to send its price.

Discover: packs of ready-made countdowns • A new Discover tab. Browse packs, follow one, and its countdowns join your list looking like your own. Browsing is free; a pack is a one-time purchase, and Premium includes them all. • Moon & Sky: full moons, new moons, blue moons, eclipses, meteor showers, solstices and equinoxes. Each one rolls on to the next after it passes. • Public Holidays: the official holidays of 22 countries, with their local names. Your own country comes suggested first. • TV Shows: search for a show and get a countdown to its next episode. It moves on as episodes air, waits quietly when nothing is announced, and tells you when a show ends. • Movies: search for a movie and count down to its release day, using the date for your country when there is one. Nothing published yet? It waits until there is. • Faith & Traditions: Ramadan, Passover, Lunar New Year, Diwali, Easter, Nowruz and more, from six calendars. Pick the calendars you follow. Dates are computed on the phone, and Islamic dates are marked as expected until the new moon is sighted. • Everything a pack adds goes into a new Feeds category, so your own countdowns and the packs never mix. • A followed countdown keeps its date locked to the pack, but the title, artwork, photo, reminders and notes are yours. Delete one and it stays gone. Pack countdowns don't count against the free limit. • Prefer three tabs? Turn Discover off in Settings. Also in this version • Add a Widget: a hands-on guide in Settings › Support that walks you through putting a widget on the Home Screen, the Lock Screen or StandBy, with your own next event in the previews. • Two new Home Screen widgets. Kounts comes to iPad • One app for iPhone and iPad, and one Premium purchase that covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. • A sidebar replaces the tab bar: Home, Events, Timeline and Settings on the left, with your category filters right under them. • Home is new: your next event fills a wide card with a live countdown to the second, and the rest of your countdowns sit in a grid of art tiles. • When an event enters its last 24 hours, the Up Next bar floats at the bottom of the screen with the live time left. Holidays get their own look • All 25 holidays now come with their own colors and decorations, free for everyone: Halloween, Christmas, Diwali, Eid al-Fitr, Hanukkah, Lunar New Year, Day of the Dead and every other holiday in the list. • Pick one and it looks the same everywhere: the event screen, your cards, shared images, widgets, Apple Watch and the Live Activity. A Decorations switch turns it off on any event you want quieter. • 17 new holidays, and dates that match where you live: Dia dos Namorados in Brazil, Mothering Sunday in the UK, Vatertag in Germany, October Thanksgiving in Canada. Seasons now point the right way south of the equator. • Up Next: in an event's last 24 hours, a small bar sits above the tab bar with the time left. On Apple Watch, the final countdown gets a compact Smart Stack card. • Widgets in the tinted style keep photos in color. Glass goes solid with Reduce Transparency, and more screens follow Larger Text. • Bug fixes and performance improvements.

The final 24 hours, one glance away • Up Next: when an event enters its final 24 hours, a mini bar appears above the tab bar with the live time left, on every tab. Tap it to jump straight in. • On Apple Watch, the final countdown now has a proper compact card in the Smart Stack. On iOS 27, the same card reaches the Mac menu bar and CarPlay. • Widgets in the tinted style keep your photos in full color, and the Poster widget is ready for the new extra large size on day one of iOS 27. • Every glass surface turns solid when Reduce Transparency is on, and the settings, create and paywall screens now scale with Larger Text.

Bug and translation fixes

Shared Space: one countdown library for the people you live with • Create a Shared Space and everyone you invite sees the same countdowns. Anyone can add, edit or tick something off, and it lands on everybody's phone straight away. Up to 5 people, each on their own Apple Account. • A switcher at the top of Events flips between Personal and your Shared Space, so a household calendar never buries your own plans. • Invite with a link, over Messages, WhatsApp or email. Each invite works once, and you can remove someone whenever you want. Joining is free: only creating a Shared Space needs Premium, so one subscription covers the household. • Any countdown moves between Personal and the Shared Space from its ... menu, and creating or joining offers to bring your existing events with you. Your notes stay yours • On a shared countdown, your notes, your reminder times and your Important flag belong to you alone. Nobody else sees them. • Those personal notes and reminders now follow you between your own devices, on shared countdowns old and new. If a Shared Space ends • Close it, leave it, or be removed, and every event stays on your device. Kounts asks whether to keep them or remove them, and nothing is deleted until you answer. Keeping them is free. • If the organizer's Premium lapses, the Shared Space turns read-only until they renew. Nothing is ever erased.

Five fonts to make Kounts yours • A new signature look: titles across Kounts now wear Cabinet Grotesk, the same bold character with a fresher feel. • Pick your own under Settings > Font: Cabinet Grotesk, Satoshi, Chillax, Melodrama or Telma, each previewed in its own letters. • Your pick follows your events everywhere: titles, cards, day counts, the event screen, timelines, recaps, shared images and widgets. Cabinet Grotesk is free for everyone; the other four are Premium, like accent colors and card styles. Accessibility • VoiceOver now names every switch in the app, so reminders, Important alarms and sync can be managed without sight. • Spoken countdowns follow each language's word order instead of English's. • More of the app's text now grows with your preferred text size. Fixes • The countdown ring on the classic card sits centered instead of getting clipped. • Recaps in Settings now list only years you actually used Kounts.

Multiple reminders • One event, several reminders: add up to four more (Premium), each firing its own notification. • The longer lead times are back for everyone: the picker regains "2 days before", "3 days before" and "1 week before", free. On This Day • When a past countdown lands on today's date from an earlier year, a card appears at the top of your list: "2 years ago today", with the trip or milestone you counted down to. • Open it for the full memory and how long you waited, then tap Count it down again to plan the next one from the same details. Answers, without leaving the app • Settings > About now answers the questions people write in about most: events, widgets, reminders, restoring purchases and iCloud sync, in every language the app speaks, each answer one tap from a human if it doesn't help. Milestones: count up, not down • Some dates aren't over. Mark a past event as a Milestone and Kounts counts up from it instead of just reading "days ago": days smoke-free, years together, time since the move that changed everything. • Milestones get a tab of their own, with a streak card, the milestones you've reached (100 days, 6 months, a year) and a live ticker counting up to the second. • Two ways in: pick a past date while creating an event and Kounts offers to make it a Milestone on the spot, or promote anything already in Past with one tap. Adding events, redesigned • The new create screen leads with a live preview of your event, so you watch it take shape as you type, and puts your own photos first instead of buried mid-scroll. • Everything else folds into one tidy group of options, so the title, the date and the look are what you see first. See who's counting with you • People who join a shared countdown from a link can now enter their name, so they turn up by name on the avatars and in the people list instead of as a blank silhouette. • "Bea joined," not "Someone joined." And the guest list refreshes the moment you open the event. Your year in countdowns • Every December, Kounts opens a tap-through story of your year: how many events you counted down to, where your time went, your longest wait. Share it as an image or a video. Only totals, never event names. An alarm for the events that matter • Mark an event Important and Kounts rings a real full-screen alarm — with sound, even on Silent or in a Focus, just like the Clock app. Made for the flight, the exam, the wedding (Premium). • New "At time of event" reminder fires exactly when the event starts, and a caption always spells out when the alarm will ring. Count in the units that fit the wait • A new "Show as" option lets any countdown read in working days, weeks, weekends, or a word of your own like "42 sleeps" — carried through your cards, widgets, Apple Watch and shared covers (Premium). A more reliable Apple Watch • Complications now refresh in the background when your next event changes on the phone, syncing holds up for big libraries, and the watch app re-pulls every time you open it.

Kounts is an event-countdown app. This update (2.0.11) adds Shared Countdowns: a user shares an event with friends over any messaging app; recipients preview the event and confirm joining, and photos and to-do lists then stay in sync between everyone (each person's notes remain private). It also adds two countdown styles (Dial, Tally), a split-flap departure board for travel events, a unified share sheet, a confirmation screen after creating an event, and a redesigned Settings screen. No account or login is required — data is stored on-device and in the user's private iCloud. What's new to check: • Shared Countdowns: open an event → ••• → Add People → send the invite link through any app. Fully exercising the join flow requires a second device signed into a different iCloud account: the recipient taps the link, sees a preview of the event, and confirms joining. Creating a share requires Premium; joining is free for everyone. Owners manage members via ••• → Manage People; members can leave anytime. • Dial countdown style: Settings → Appearance → Dial (free on the Classic card). Tally is a Premium card style in the same list. • Travel-category events show a split-flap departure board on the event screen. • Share sheet: the share button on an event now combines cover-image export (Post/Portrait, watermark toggle) with inviting people. • After creating an event, a confirmation screen shows it in the chosen style (can be turned off in Settings). Redesigned event screen • Open an event and its photo now fills the screen as a poster, with the countdown and date on top — scroll down for everything else. • Notes, lists, links and memories are organized into one tidy block with tabs, each showing a count so you can see what an event holds at a glance. • Memories now appear as a photo grid, grouped by year for birthdays and recurring events. • To-do lists show a progress bar in the event's color — tap to tick items off. Notes, lists & links • Keep everything about an event in one place: jot down notes, add as many to-do lists as you need, and paste links that turn into neat preview cards. • Notes are free for everyone; to-do lists and links are a Premium feature. Photo memories - Every event now has its own photo gallery — add pictures to any countdown, past or upcoming, and look back whenever you open it. - Recurring events (birthdays, anniversaries) group their photos by year, building a history over time. - Free: up to 3 photos per event; Premium raises the limit to 15 and syncs your memories across devices with iCloud. Calendar view - The Timeline tab has a new Calendar mode — your events on a month grid with a colored dot on every day that has something planned. Tap a day to see what's on it. Create with AI - On devices that support Apple Intelligence, tap Create with AI and describe your event in plain language ("dinner with Sam next Sunday in Lisbon"). Kounts fills in the title, date, category, and location for you to review. The language understanding runs on-device. Siri & Spotlight - Ask Siri "How many days until my trip?" or "Open my next countdown," or create a countdown hands-free. Your countdowns now appear in iPhone search too. Share in any size - The share button offers three perfectly-sized images — Post (4:5), Square (1:1), and Story (9:16) — to post straight to Instagram or Messages with no cropping.
