Spacevista: Disk Space & Usage
Storage analyzer & visualizer
Only for Mac
Free
Mac
Free and private: see what fills your Mac as colour-coded bubbles and clean up safely. New in 2.2: Disk Space widgets, a redrawn icon and a faster Tree View.
Spacevista shows you, at a glance, what is taking up space on your Mac — and helps you get it back.
SPACE LENS
Every file and folder becomes a bubble sized by the space it really uses on disk. Colours tell you how big a share of its folder each item takes: red for more than a quarter, then orange, yellow and green. The heavy stuff jumps out before you go looking for it.
DIVE IN
Click any folder bubble to open it. Folders that only hold another folder, like app bundles, open straight to where there is something to compare, and breadcrumbs take you back.
TREE VIEW
Prefer a list? Tree View ranks every folder and file by size, with the same colour scale and a percentage for each item. Only the rows on screen are drawn, so even huge folders stay quick.
WIDGETS
Keep an eye on your free space from the desktop or Notification Center: a small widget for your startup disk, a medium one for up to three drives, turning amber and then red as they fill up.
WHAT'S IN "SYSTEM DATA"?
That mysterious grey bar in Storage settings is made of real folders: caches, developer tools, simulators, old backups, app containers. Scan your disk and Spacevista shows them by name and size, hidden folders included.
ACCURATE SIZES
Spacevista measures real disk usage and never counts the same data twice: APFS firmlinks, hard links and symbolic links are skipped, and so are other volumes mounted inside the one you scan. Hidden files and folders are counted too.
CLEAN UP SAFELY
Move anything to the Trash from its context menu, or reveal it in Finder. Permanent deletion always asks first and tells you exactly how much space and how many items you are about to remove. The folder you scanned can never be deleted from the app.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Spacevista runs entirely on your Mac, inside the App Sandbox and with no network access. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking — and it is free.

A big update:
• NEW: Disk Space widgets — keep an eye on free space from your desktop or Notification Center, in small or medium size
• A new icon, redrawn by hand
• Faster: scanning no longer freezes the window, and huge folders open instantly in both views
• Redesigned Tree View: one line per item, with colour-coded share bars and percentages
• Safer deletions: the prompt shows the size and how many items you are about to remove
• Hidden folders (caches, developer files…) are now measured too, so the total matches your disk
• Folders that only hold another folder, like app bundles, open straight through
• The whole app follows the language you pick, and the drive list updates as you connect drives
• New shortcuts: ⌘R to scan, ⌘. to stop, ⌘[ to go back
