New in 2.0: search the words inside your screenshots, a menu bar panel, crop and hide private info, find duplicates, trim recordings to GIF, and a widget.
Captr files every screenshot by the app it came from, so you can find it later.
Take a screenshot the way you always do. Captr notices it, works out which app and window it came from, and moves it into the folder you choose, grouped by app, by date, or by your own rules. Nothing to click, nothing to drag.
FIND ANY SCREENSHOT
• Search the words inside your screenshots. Captr reads the text in each one, so "quota exceeded" finds the screenshot of that error.
• Browse by source app in the sidebar, with each app's icon and count.
• Filter by full screen, partial, recordings or clipboard captures.
• Optionally list screenshots in Spotlight, so ⌘Space finds them too.
YOUR LATEST SCREENSHOT, ONE CLICK AWAY
• Click the menu bar icon, or press ⌃⌥⌘S anywhere, for your recent screenshots.
• Drag a screenshot straight into Slack, Mail or a document.
• Copy the image, or copy just the text in it.
• A small preview appears in the corner after each capture, ready to drag, copy, pin or delete.
GET IT READY TO SHARE
• Crop to the part that matters.
• Blur or black out anything private, or let Find Private Info hide emails, phone numbers, card numbers and API keys for you.
• Trim screen recordings and export them as GIFs for tools that don't play video.
KEEP IT TIDY
• Pin the screenshots you want to keep.
• Clean up automatically: move unpinned screenshots to the Trash after 7, 14, 30 or 90 days.
• Find duplicates and retakes, and keep only the newest.
• See where the space goes, by app and by month.
• Undo any delete for a few seconds.
RULES FOR EACH APP
Send Figma screenshots to Design/Figma, name Xcode screenshots with the window title and time, keep Slack screenshots for a week. Templates use the app, window, date, time and size.
WORKS WITH YOUR MAC
• Desktop and Notification Center widget with your newest screenshots.
• Share images and recordings to Captr from other apps' Share menu.
• Shortcuts actions: Get Latest Screenshot, Find Screenshots, Get Text from Latest Screenshot (macOS 13 and later).

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Requires macOS 12 Monterey or later.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• If the app ever quits unexpectedly, it asks whether to send us a crash report, so we can fix it. Nothing is sent unless you agree.
