Season 9 overhauls gear: item effects are now known in advance instead of random, and grow as you level the item through play. The crafting lab and its modules are removed, with an automatic refund. The season-long cost curve for gear has been rebalanced, plus assorted smaller adjustments elsewhere.

All audio can be turned off in the options. Action cards rework: the overloaded Surveillance card is split into two clearer cards. - Surveillance is now a pure defensive shield. It blocks hold-up attempts on your building for a set time (12h at Tier 1, 24h at Tier 2, extendable up to 48h). No more charges. - Degradation becomes Sabotage, a rarer special card. It marks an enemy building as compromised for 12h; left untreated, the building can be forced to auction. The owner can repair instantly for 7.5% of the building's value, and the Guard Dog trait makes a building fully immune. Contract rewards: item rewards now offer far more variety.
