YOUR COACH, AT YOUR GYM
Tell us where you train: a budget gym, a full gym, a 24/7 club, a premium club, at home, or on the road. Your coach plans around the equipment that's actually there. No equipment checklist to fill in. And if a machine is taken, you'll get a backup exercise right next to it.
KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO LOAD
Your rest screen now shows the plates to put on the bar for your next set. Set your favorite plates once, 55s included, and MaximumFit does the math.
A BETTER REST SCREEN
See what's next at a glance: the exercise, the reps and the weight. Pick a classic countdown or the new progress ring. On iPad, it spreads out into two columns.
VELOCITY TRAINING, MADE EASY
Bring in bar-speed data from your velocity tracker with a file or just a few screenshots. MaximumFit matches it to your workouts, tracks your estimated max for each lift, and flags anything worth a second look.
YOUR LIFTS, YOUR WAY
Keep variations like deficit deadlifts as their own lift, or group names that mean the same thing. Your trends and records stay accurate.
SMOOTHER WORKOUTS
Skip, fail or remove a set and your set numbers stay in order. Charts only count the sets you actually finished, and your calendar no longer shows a logged day twice.
5.5 Sep 30
Your screen now stays awake during a workout. No more
tapping the phone between sets to see what's next.
Fixed: the Reorder Exercises list wouldn't scroll far
enough to reach the last exercises, so you couldn't drag
them.
Fixed: your post-workout coaching summary sometimes
described your warm-up instead of your actual session.
A heavy day that opened with mobility work could come
back as "active recovery and mobility routine". Your
coach now sees the session name, knows which exercises
were warm-up, and never drops your main lifts.
Fixed: in the nutrition log, the macros ran over the
confidence badge. They're now on their own line, colour
matched to the rings above, and rounded to something
readable — "P 42.5g C 14.4g F 25.7g" rather than
"P42.51 C14.35 F25.68".
Fixed: program week labels showed the wrong weekday when
a program started mid-week.
Under the hood: text size, contrast and accent settings
now reach more of the app.
5.3.1 Sep 22
START A WORKOUT WITHOUT BUILDING ONE FIRST
Four ready-made sessions now sit on your dashboard — Full Body, Upper,
Lower, and Core & Conditioning. Tap one and you are training. There is
nothing to configure and nothing to plan first, and two of them need no
equipment at all.
Weights start blank on purpose. You fill in what you actually lifted as
you go, the same way you would on paper.
Tap any of the four to see what is in it — the equipment, the length,
the exercise count — then Start when you are ready.
YOUR DASHBOARD TIPS, IN ONE PLACE
Suggestions for Apple TV, nutrition, lift trends and your coach profile
used to arrive one at a time, each one replacing the last. They now sit
in a single row you can swipe through and dismiss card by card.
Tips only show up once you have a workout behind you, and only when they
apply — no Apple TV card if your TV is already paired, no trends card
before there is anything to chart.
Dismissed one you actually wanted? Settings, then Show Dismissed Tips,
brings them back.
REST TIMERS THAT SURVIVE LEAVING THE APP
Step away between sets to take a call or change your music, and the
countdown picks up exactly where it should be — not where it froze. If
the rest finished while you were away, you come straight back to your
workout instead of tapping Skip Rest.
Your phone can also tell you when rest is up, so you can pocket it
between sets. The notification names the exercise and set waiting for
you.
ONE WORKOUT SUMMARY, EVERYWHERE
The summary right after you finish a workout and the one you open later
from Workouts are now the same card — same layout, same numbers, and the
same image when you share it.
Summaries now carry a full date and time, like "Yesterday, Sep 14 ·
4:32 PM", so a screenshot still makes sense a month later.
BAR SPEED THAT READS LIKE TRAINING DATA
If you track bar speed, each lift now shows the load it was moved at, the
average speed, and the training zone that speed falls in — so a ramping
session reads as what it is: a descent from speed work into absolute
strength. A marker flags only the sets that crossed your own velocity
loss threshold instead of decorating every row, and where your sets
support it, an estimated max from your load–velocity line appears
alongside.
DUMBBELL WORK COUNTED CORRECTLY
Per-hand loads are labeled as per-hand everywhere they appear — your live
session, your history, your trends and your totals — so a pair of 55s
reads as 110 lb of work rather than 55.
Dumbbell lifts are no longer charted as barbell lifts. Dumbbell bench,
rows, incline and overhead presses were being folded into their barbell
counterparts, which mixed two different lifts into one line on your
progress charts. They're now tracked separately.
Weights show in your units everywhere. If you train in kilograms, kg is
what you'll see — including on Apple TV.
YOUR DATA, HANDLED PROPERLY
Deleting your account now removes your sign-in and the data attached to
it, not just the profile record.
Deleting a single workout also unwinds everything it counted towards.
Your totals, your streak and your program progress all go back to where
they were before it.
ALSO IN THIS RELEASE
New accounts no longer meet a prompt about AI usage before they have
trained even once.
Updated navigation libraries to close three security advisories.
Stability and performance fixes.
5.3 Sep 17
Updated the edit and build workout screens to add a drag and drop function for easier re-ordering of exercises in the workout.
5.2 Sep 15
• Adjusted how days of the week are shown on training programs so they line up
with each program's start date.
• Behind-the-scenes improvements to workout sync between your phone and
Apple TV.
5.1.1 Sep 14
What's New — 5.1
Velocity Based Training (Pro)
Track bar speed as you lift. Log a single rep, every rep in a set, or
your warm-up ramp — right after the set, or later during your rest.
One rep is enough.
• See velocity, and how much speed you lost across the set, in your
post-workout summary
• Ramp through your warm-ups and MaximumFit fits a load–velocity line:
the weight that moves at your target speed, and an estimated max
when your data has earned one
• Chart velocity as a trend alongside Top Set and Estimated 1RM, with
a read on whether today's line is ahead of, behind, or level with
your recent sessions
• Choose which lifts you track in Settings › Velocity Based Training
Saved workouts (Pro)
• Save a finished session straight from its summary — the session
itself tells you whether it was worth repeating
• Start from a saved workout on Home, no rebuilding required
Smarter coaching
• Your AI coach now sees every set you log — including the top set on
sessions that ramp to a heavy single.
• Your coach can read your bar speed and prescribe against it. Velocity
targets show above the logger as you lift and during your rest.
• Max-effort attempts now reach your coach marked as max attempts, with
raw and equipped tracked as the separate lifts they are.
Fixes
• A lift that ramps to a top set now charts as one lift on one day,
instead of splitting into two sparse series.
• Bar speed stays with a workout when you reopen it.
• Workout summaries list exercises in the order you did them, even
after a mid-session reorder.
• Deleting a workout now clears it from your progress stats and trends.
• Progress stats update reliably after sessions with many different
exercises.
5.1.0 Sep 10
This update fixes subscription activation, opens up your program
schedule, and clears up a couple of things that made your training
history look wrong.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
• Subscribing to Pro now unlocks everything immediately. If you
subscribed and the app still showed your trial or kept Pro features
locked, that's fixed — just open the app and your subscription will be
recognized. You do not need to subscribe again.
• Restore Purchases now works correctly. If you've paid and the app
isn't showing Pro, tap Restore Purchases in your Profile.
• Pro members no longer see the "Your Pro trial ended" message. It no
longer flashes on screen for a moment when you open the app fresh, and
if you dismiss it, it stays dismissed — on every device you sign in to.
YOUR PROGRAM
• You can now add a workout to a rest day. Tap the rest day in your
program, choose Add Workout, and build it in the same editor you use
for every other day.
• Skipping a day no longer marks it as completed. A skipped day shows as
skipped, can be undone with Undo Skip, and stays available to train,
edit, or reschedule.
DURING A WORKOUT
• An exercise you add mid-workout now starts as a weighted exercise
instead of bodyweight. Push-ups, stretches, and other bodyweight
movements still come in as bodyweight.
• Enter weight and reps on the first set of an exercise you just added
and the rest of its sets fill in to match. Change a set and your value
stays put.
LIFT TRENDS
• Dumbbell and per-hand lifts chart at the weight you entered. A 65 lb
hammer curl was being plotted as 130 lb, which invented jumps in your
progress, false personal records, and inflated one-rep max estimates.
Per-hand loads are now labeled "/ hand" so it's clear which number
you're reading.
• Lifts written more than one way now chart as a single exercise.
"Close Grip Bench Press", "Bench Press Close Grip", and a session
logged as just "Close Grip Bench" used to split into separate series,
with the smaller one hidden. Your full history for those lifts is back
in one chart.
5.0.1 Sep 2
MaximumFit 5.0 — your coach can now change your plan.
COACH YOUR PROGRAM, NOT JUST YOUR SETS
The AI coach reads your active program and proposes real changes to it: move a
session, add a training day, rearrange a week. Every proposal is a draft — a
review sheet shows exactly what it would change, item by item, before anything
is saved. Nothing happens without your say-so.
RECOVERY IS A RULE NOW
Muscle recovery windows are enforced, not suggested. A proposal that would work
a muscle too soon is refused, with the reason. Recovery settings are editable,
and the coach plans around them. When the fix doesn't fit this week, it can move
the session into next week instead.
PIN THE DAYS YOU WON'T MOVE
Tell the coach which days are fixed. It plans around them.
LOADED CARRIES
Farmers carries, suitcase carries, yoke walks and overhead walks now work
properly. Set them up for time or distance with a real weight column. "Weight per
hand" and "one side at a time" are separate settings, because they mean different
things — a pair of dumbbells is loaded per hand, a suitcase carry is performed
one side at a time. Distances state their unit, and carries no longer inflate
your volume totals.
TRAINING VOLUME YOU CAN TRUST
Your workout summary, share card and completion screen now agree, because they
share one calculation. Weights are reported in the unit you actually log in.
PROGRAM SCHEDULING
Choose your program's start date instead of it assuming today. Reschedule a
program and the dates stay coherent. Set which day your week starts on.
Plus a large round of accuracy and reliability fixes throughout the coach,
the calendar and the program builder.
5.0 Aug 25
General updates to keep data more consistent from session to session.
4.5.6 Jul 30
We squashed a batch of bugs in your stats. Day Streak now counts calendar days, your Workouts total matches across Home and Progress, and older or auto-logged sessions are counted correctly. Cleaner, more trustworthy numbers across the board.
4.5.5 Jul 22
• Fixed rest timers not carrying over from your program — your custom rest times (and superset rest) now apply during the workout instead of defaulting to 90 seconds.
• You can now resume an in-progress workout if the app closes in the background — no more losing your session.
4.5.4 Jul 18
This release includes security improvements and stability fixes.
4.5.3 Jun 25
What's New in 4.5.2
Smarter coaching that learns from how you actually train.
• Adaptive plan adjustments — When you regularly trim or add sets to
an exercise, your AI coach now notices and offers to update your
program to match. You're always in control: nothing changes until
you review and approve it.
• Plan check-ins with your coach — Ask the AI coach how well you're
sticking to your program and whether your prescribed sets should
change.
• Cleaner timed exercises — Timed moves like bike, planks, and
carries now show their duration as minutes and seconds (e.g. "5 min",
"30 sec") instead of raw "300s reps."
• Clearer program calendar — Skipped days now show as "Skipped"
instead of "Done," and your schedule advances to the correct next
day after you skip or finish a workout.
• Polish and fixes — The correct version now appears in Settings,
plus general stability improvements.
Thanks for training with MaximumFit!
4.5.2 Jun 22
Thanks for using MaximumFit! This update brings smoother
weight tracking and more accurate progress charts:
• Apple Health weight sync everywhere — your AI Coach profile
now pulls your latest body weight from Apple Health
automatically, just like the Profile and Progress screens.
Connect Apple Health once and your weight stays in sync.
• More accurate Lift Trends — bench press variations (like
"Incline Dumbbell Bench Press" and "Incline Dumbbell Press")
now count as the same lift, so your progress and personal
records show up correctly instead of being split apart.
• General performance and stability improvements.
4.5.1 Jun 18
Train with more structure and track your strength with more precision.
Warm-Up & Cooldown Phases
• Build sessions with dedicated warm-up and cooldown movements, visually separated from your main work.
• Warm-up and cooldown sets are tracked but kept out of your strength trends, so your numbers stay clean.
• Smarter rest defaults — no forced rest timer after warm-up and cooldown moves, and you can adjust rest mid-workout.
Raw vs Equipped Max Lifts
• Log a personal record as Raw or Equipped, with an optional note for your gear (suit, wraps, belt).
• Raw and equipped lifts are tracked separately, so a suited PR never overwrites your raw best.
• Tap any record to edit it, or delete it — full control over your PRs at last.
• Trends now charts raw and equipped progress as separate lines.
Smarter Program Scheduling
• Move a program day to any day of the week without rebuilding your plan.
• Re-importing or regenerating a program now replaces the old one instead of creating duplicates.
• A redesigned Workouts calendar is fully tappable and shows your planned program days at a glance.
Fixes
• A missed lift attempt is no longer saved as a personal record.
• Various stability and polish improvements.
4.5.0 Jun 17
Set Techniques
Dial in exactly how each set should feel. Tag individual sets with pause reps, tempo, drop sets, rest-pause, partials, AMRAP, iso holds, or clusters — while building a workout, editing a program, or on the fly mid-workout from the Actions → Set Technique menu (with one tap to apply the technique to every set). Your techniques now show right on the active-workout and summary screens.
Also in this release
• Fixed: adding a set no longer clears the techniques you'd set on it
• Clearer set details — specific rep targets and consistent rest timers across programs
• Apple TV: "Start Station" now works for songs already in your library
4.2.2 Jun 12
Adjustment to Workout and program creation and edit screens to now have modifications per set. Add pause, tempo, drop set, rest-pause, Iso hold, AMRAP etc... Also adjusted the rest time per set to start at 60s and go up to 5 min. New workout Audit feature added to help identify trends in progress.
4.2.1 Jun 11
Import any workout program
Bring a plan from anywhere into the Program Builder. Paste it as text or JSON, upload a file (.txt, .md, .json, or .csv), or just snap a screenshot — and the AI turns it into a full, editable program. It preserves your exercises, sets, reps, weights, and RPEs, and even keeps multi-week progression waves and deload weeks intact. When you start a new program you can now choose Build with AI Coach or Import an existing plan.
Smarter progression that waits for a trend
Your AI coach no longer changes your targets off a single great (or rough) day. The new Adaptive Progression setting (Off / Aggressive / Standard / Conservative) makes it confirm a trend across multiple sessions before suggesting you add weight — or ease off if you're consistently grinding a lift. Suggestions that aren't confirmed yet appear as "pending" so you always know why.
New Workout audit screen that triggers when a trend is noticed that lets you give a response to how progression is going.
Add exercises mid-workout, reliably
Exercises you add during an active workout now show up immediately, never duplicate, advance in the right order, and save correctly with your session — and stay in sync with Apple TV.
Fixes & polish
AI Coach Profile now saves reliably and confirms when it's done.
Cleaner Import screen with a clearer, card-based exercise breakdown.
4.2.0 Jun 5
Fixed: your profile getting reset after an update. Returning users on a fresh install could land on the welcome/setup screens with their name, Pro status, and trial state wiped. Your profile now loads reliably and is protected from being overwritten.
Fixed: Pro showing as a trial / Free. Subscription state now re-links itself to your Apple purchase automatically, so Pro stays Pro.
Fixed: new programs starting on the wrong week. A plan you create now stays on Week 1 until you actually start it — the weekly clock begins with your first workout, not the day you saved it. (Applies to restarted programs too.)
Improved: adding exercises. You can now Create a Custom Exercise directly from the program view, not just the edit screen — both places now offer the same options. Also changed favorite exercise and saved workouts to be more user friendly and easier to access.
4.1.2 Jun 3
Adjust for math and ui for the macro widget trackers on lock and home screens.
4.1.1 Jun 1
What's New in 4.1
• Trends — a new chart-driven view of your strongest lifts and how they're
climbing over time. Open it from the Progress tab, switch between your top
lifts, and tap any lift for its full history: best sets, estimated 1-rep max,
personal records, and recent sessions.
• Smarter goals — strength goals now update automatically from the lifts you log
in your workouts, so your progress reflects what you're actually lifting.
• Program scheduling — set a start date for a program, or restart one to reset
your progress and timer.
• Cleaner exercise tracking — the same lift logged under slightly different names
(e.g. "Lat Pull-Down" and "Lat Pulldown") is now grouped together
automatically.
• Performance improvements and bug fixes.
4.1.0 May 30
What's New in 4.0.2
Music on the big screen, smoother workouts, and a smarter AI coach.

Save & resume workouts — Step away mid-session and pick up exactly where you left off.
Reorder on the fly — Long-press to rearrange exercises during an active workout.
Program completion summary — Finish a program and see a recap of what you accomplished.

This release polishes the 4.0 experience based on early feedback.

• Subscriptions: Your active plan now shows correctly on the Profile screen, and we automatically clean up stale purchase records linked to your account.
• Workouts: Starting a workout from the Workouts tab now opens the full Active Workout screen instead of a small popup.
• Exercise Library: The Filter panel respects the notch and home indicator on all devices, "Save as Favorite" is back, and saving errors are handled gracefully.

4.0.0 May 20
What's New in 3.5
AI Coach — Major Overhaul
The AI coach is now significantly smarter and more personalized. It now runs through a server-side proxy (improved security and cost control), has access to your full workout history via vector search (not just recent sessions), and uses a semantic memory layer that extracts and stores key facts about you between sessions. The coach can now look up your actual lift numbers, e1RM trajectory, and per-exercise history when giving advice.
AI Coach Memory Management
A new Coaching Memory screen in Settings lets you view and manage what the AI remembers about you — goals, preferences, training history highlights, and notes the coach has stored from past conversations.
Workout Notes (New)
You can now add notes to individual exercises during a session (via the new notes icon in the bottom bar), and a session-level note on the post-workout summary screen. Both feed directly into the AI coach's memory context for future conversations.
AI Chat: Tool-Use Architecture
The underlying AI chat system was migrated to tool-use / function-calling, making the coach more reliable at structured tasks like generating workouts, querying your history, and formatting responses consistently.
tvOS: Week Plan & Workout Preview
The tvOS weekly calendar now shows all 7 days and stays in sync with iOS completions in real time. Tapping a planned workout card shows a full day preview before starting.
Workout Session UI Polish
Strengthened bottom action bar with a wider Fail button and cleaner Prev/Next navigation pills
Max Lift toggle added to the active workout screen
Bodyweight exercises now display Load | Reps columns in consistent order
