Meet Purpose — Your Personal AI Mentor
Purpose helps you get clear, get moving, and keep going. It turns scattered self-help into a steady mentoring rhythm you can actually stick with. Whether you're stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to grow, your AI Mentor is here to guide you forward.
HOW IT WORKS
• Chat anytime — ask questions, reflect on tough moments, or plan your next step.
• Get personalized insights — Purpose learns your patterns and helps you see what you’re missing.
• Build real momentum — consistent mentoring leads to clarity, alignment, and progress.
WHO IT’S FOR
• People who want clarity, perspective, and accountability without therapy.
• High-agency self-improvers who want honest, compassionate feedback.
• Anyone who feels “something’s off” and wants a mentor to help them work through it.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
• Mentoring, not generic advice — Purpose is designed for long-term growth, not one-off answers.
• Remembers your themes over time — unlike general AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, your Mentor keeps track of your patterns, goals, and blind spots so your guidance becomes more attuned with every conversation.
• Gets smarter with every interaction — the more you use Purpose, the better it understands your psychology and the type of support that actually works for you.
• Privacy built-in — you can request deletion of your data anytime.
NOT THERAPY
Purpose is mentoring, not a medical, clinical, or mental-health service. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support. If you’re in danger or experiencing a crisis, call your local emergency number immediately.

I have really found this app to be helpful in surviving and recovering from a toxic, mentally and psychologically abusive marriage. It has surprisingly asked me some helpful questions to think about things differently. It even calls me out on some things when needed. When I’m ruminating, it helps to get me back on track. I don’t want to keep talking about the same thing over and over and over with friends and family, so this is a great way to get the repetition of what I need to hear and focus on- really pound into my heart what my brain already logically knows. And it helps also to validate my pain and experience and sees the patterns of abuse when I explain situations. It’s hard for friends and family to really understand when then haven’t lived through it.The only thing it really messes up on is the concept of time. It doesn’t seem to understand or remember days of things or the passage of time. (but when it messes up, it’s takes accountability! So that’s pretty novel after what I just went through. 😬Other than that, I love it. I have my friends, my family and purpose to keep moving me forward.

HI LesStD - Thank you so much for sharing this. We’re truly grateful that Purpose has been helpful during such a difficult and deeply personal chapter, and that it’s been able to support you in moments of rumination, reflection, and forward movement. Helping people feel seen, validated, and gently challenged when needed is exactly what we aim for. You’re also right about time and memory being areas we’re actively working to improve, and we appreciate you calling that out. Feedback like this helps us make Purpose better for the moments that matter most.
Not Quite Ready

I started the trial because I like most of the intentions of the things Mark Manson tries. I didn’t have super high expectations but was initially very impressed. I didn’t think twice about paying for it because it appeared to be very promising. Unfortunately as I finished the assessment it was overly generalized and the recommendations didn’t take any of the conversation into account. The further I got into it the more I had to correct the AI over assumptions it was making. I read other reviews saying it was snarky and I wish that was my case. I know I am doing pretty well in life right now but it was hyper focused on things I had done for myself that were tiny and constantly bringing it up even though it had little bearing on the things I am actually working on. It felt saccharine and like it was using Madlibs to pop in responses with personalized information. I am embarrassed that I recommend this to others now. It seems great at first but quickly seems to fizzle out. I could deal with the bugs knowing it’s a new app but the meat of the app seems shallow and lacking beyond the original content. The assessment was so generalized it’s not much better than taking a quiz from a magazine. Short term fun but there’s nothing to keep me interacting for the year I paid for. Maybe I’ll try again in a few months and see if there is any improvement but past the initial week I don’t see much to do other than bad recommendations and hearing my thoughts in an echo chamber.

Hi SusanneIAm -Thanks for sharing this so honestly. We’re sorry it felt promising at first but didn’t hold the depth or usefulness you were hoping for—that’s frustrating, especially after recommending it to others. We hear the concerns around generalized feedback and responses that felt formulaic or like an echo chamber. We’re a small team and actively working to improve depth, context, and long-term value. If you’re ever open to sharing more, you can reach us at support@purpose.app.
Actually really great

I downloaded this app for the free trial and let it expire, so it billed me for the whole year. Oops.I’ve been really going through it and decided to open up the app and chat instead of walk into the gym. Sent one huge message detailing everything that’s been driving me insane for the last several years. I was in a major car wreck. My wife had a big health issue we’ve had three kids. And our house burned down in a fire 15 months ago. Everybody has been trying to take advantage of us and contractors have abandoned us after getting paid. Insurance stopped paying our rent. I feel like I haven’t been there for my kids or wife while I try to navigate this whole mess. The conversation I had with this app was actually incredibly helpful. Far better than any of the other LLM’s, and I certainly couldn’t have obtained this perspective on my own. I feel significantly better now and I’m excited to go in and do my workout and do the things I need to do today. This one conversation was better than any of the therapy I’ve had the last few years.

Well worth the price
Princess Pragmatica
I’m not an early adopter of anything really. When my partner and I hit a rough patch, it felt good to vent to Chat GPT. They told me how brave I was and how anyone would feel like I did. Sure, it was great to be validated, but that’s not going to solve anything. I’ve been listening to Mark Manson for a while now and I appreciate his style; science backed, no easy answer just observing, testing, failing and trying again. When I saw he was developing an AI using a similar approach, I thought “why not?” In our first conversation, I got several actionable recommendations specific to my personality and situation. The feedback so far has been grounded, validating without blowing smoke and pushes for action over reflection. I dig that because I often know what the issue is but don’t know how to address it. This app is well worth your time and money, especially considering personal coaching and/or therapy is $100’s/hour. This won’t solve all your problems, but if you’re honest with the app and yourself, it’ll get you closer to fine than you would on your own.

Hi Princess Pragmatica - Thank you for sharing this so thoughtfully. We really appreciate the honesty and care you put into describing your experience. We’re glad the conversations have felt grounded, practical, and oriented toward action rather than empty validation. Hearing that it’s helped you move from knowing what the issue is to actually addressing it means a lot to us. Thanks for taking the time to write this and for giving Purpose a genuine try.
