It's six in the evening, the reading homework is still open on the table, and you both already know how the next hour goes. One paragraph, a pause, then the same line again.
Freshscan reads the page out loud. Point the camera at a schoolbook, a worksheet, a letter. Tap the paragraph that's due. Listen.
ONE PARAGRAPH AT A TIME
A whole page delivered at once is the moment a child who finds reading hard gives up. So Freshscan doesn't do that. It finds the blocks of text on the page and lets your child choose one. The rest of the page stays quiet until they're ready for it.
Holding the phone steady is the entire operation. The app finds the page by itself and starts the moment you stop moving. There are no buttons to hunt for, which matters when a child is using it alone.
A VOICE WORTH LISTENING TO
A child will sit through an audiobook narrator. A child will not sit through a navigation system. Freshscan's premium voices sound like the first kind, and the Smart Narrator holds one consistent tone across a whole document, so chapter three doesn't arrive in a different voice than chapter one.
If the connection drops mid-page, a free on-device voice picks it up from there. The reading doesn't stop.

NOT ONLY HOMEWORK
Reading doesn't get easier after school. A letter from the tax office, a rental contract, an insurance form, the small print on a prescription. Same camera, same tap, same voice. If reading has always been work for you, this is the app for that too, and nothing about it looks like it was built for children.
WHAT IT COSTS
No subscription. Nothing renews.
You start with 100,000 coins, free, once. After that, coins are a one-time purchase in three sizes, and they are only spent while a premium voice is actually playing. The on-device voice costs nothing at all. Scan as many pages as you like without touching your balance.
Freshscan is made with dyslexia in mind, for children and for adults. It's for anyone who would rather listen to a page than fight their way through it.

Danish, Norwegian, Greek, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Hebrew and more languages are now read in the same natural premium voice as English, German or French. With the Smart Narrator on, they keep one tone across the whole document, too.
Until now, a page in one of these languages could stop playing while the Smart Narrator was on. That is fixed.
A page in these languages now takes more coins than before. The app shows the cost before you press play.
