A fantastic tool, when it works.

I love this app. The whole idea and how it’s implemented is great, but it’s not without its issues. The move to trash and cargo hold features do not always work. I cleared the cache, and that seems to have fixed the move to trash (it wouldn’t move the files before), but it took me a while to figure out. The cargo hold allows me to put the items in the list, but I can’t click and drag them out. When I try, it just moves the whole window. I truly believe this could be an instant essential on every Mac I’ll own, but only if the current bugs are addressed.
It’s an instant-essential

It's rare for an app to feel instantly indispensable, but Outpost Launcher is one of those exceptions. It fixes a workflow issue macOS that I've been waiting for a first party like solution, without being a full-on dock replacement like everything else with similar functionality.Right away a few ways I was able to add to my workflow right away via; Dragging files straight from the downloads stack in the dock s without needing a Finder window to: - Sending .html files to Whisk or previewing them in Arc. - Quickly opening CSV files in either Numbers or Excel. - Opening PDFs in Affinity Designer, UPDF, or Preview. - Tossing images into CleanShot X for instant editing.Looking ahead, I hope to see dedicated launcher profiles for different file types (like PDFs, images, CSVs), the ability to exclude certain window types from the mouse shake gesture, and an auto-hide feature. All In All; it should absolutely be in the conversation for an App of the Year award.

Great app

I love the idea, and the interface… but it doesn’t work, hardly ever for me. I’m reaching out to the developer to see if he can get it working. I’ll update the review depending on what I find out.UPDATE: I got more information from the dev and you have to drag the files. It’s actually nice that you can use it as a shortcut to open an app also… it eliminates the need for another app called Launchy.
Carefully developed portfolio of critical apps.

This is the third app I bought from this dev, and each solves a critical problem for me. Parachute Backup backs up iCloud files to my NAS. Offloader moves files from my local disk to iCloud faster than macOS, freeing up disk space. Outpost Launcher makes it easy to save files to my Desktop and move them afterward. Each app is well-developed and works as intended. Keep it up, dev…
