MAP YOUR TRIPS
Start the app, drive to work, school, the gym, or grocery store. Your route will be recorded safely in the background. Each mile will add 20¢ to your app wallet.
GET PAID
You’ll be paid 20¢ per mile for eligible trips that begin in our active service area. (For all other trips, you’ll store up value in your app wallet reserve, which will unlock when each new service area opens.)
LEVEL UP
Get paid when you reach each new level through trip frequency, mileage milestones, and by reaching small goal. Beat your friend to level 10 with easy achievements like adding your profile picture or inviting a friend.
INVITE & EARN MORE
When you share your QR Code with people directly around you, you’ll earn up to $100 when that person starts to drive using the Roam™ app. A new friend at the dog park, someone in line at the grocery store, or your next door neighbor can all be invited with a QR code inside the app.

WHERE IS IT AVAILABLE?
You can use it anywhere, but our current active service area includes the San Francisco Bay Area cities of Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda, Albany, and Piedmont. But this is just the beginning; we'll open more places to community-driven true ridesharing, to reduce everyone’s cost to 25¢ per mile and cut the carbon footprint of each trip by 50% or more.

Our innovative technology is powered by intelligent route detection, real-time data, and the ability to share ride offers and requests between a growing network of people in shared communities.
YOUR PRIVACY MATTERS
Protecting your privacy is built into our design and values from day one. You’re in control. You choose when to map a trip and whether to upload it. We’ll never share your location data with anyone, ever. Information you choose to share on your profile will only be visible to other members if you want it to be.
HOW DOES MAPPING HELP?
By mapping your everyday trips, we can build a smarter, better, and cleaner way to make all of our daily trips. By first establishing overlapping routes, we'll then see opportunities for shared rides to offer to our members. Every trip you take helps build the foundation for our sustainable mobility network.
HOW MUCH WILL I SAVE?
Any member who chooses to drive on a trip will get paid 20¢ per occupied seat, including their own – and they’ll never have to go out of their way. Members who choose to ride on trips will pay just 25¢ per mile, which is about 25% of what it costs to drive their own car, or 90% less than the cost of many on-demand car services.
The Roam app is great because it’s focused on reducing the cost of getting a ride for everyone. At the same time, it’s building a completely different kind of very affordable, community-driven ridesharing. The Roam app will do this by connecting people in the same communities, who are going the same direction, instead of paying for a hired car and driver — at 1/10th of the cost.Joining the Roam community now will help to build a true ridesharing platform that reduces the carbon footprint of every shared ride by at least 2X or more compared to driving alone. This will help to save our climate at the same time that it transforms the cost of getting a ride. Right now, new members can get paid to drive and map their trips in the first active service area. Those driving outside that area will get funds put into their “reserve” balance when they drive in a “future” service area. Eventually, the Roam app will reduce the cost of a ride to 25¢ per mile for everyone, compared to high cost of $2-3 per mile on other ridesharing apps.For Roam members who choose to drive, they will never go out of their way. They’ll only go to the places they are already going, but they will have the option to take a rider with them and be paid for each occupied seat in their car, including their own.
More Reliable Trip Submissions
Roam now automatically retries certain interrupted trip submissions, helping trips finish uploading after you reopen the app.
Clearer Service Areas
We improved how active and future service areas are shown on the map, including cleaner borders and a darker future-area color.
Simpler Payment Labels
The payments screen now uses Current and Reserve wording so it is easier to understand which balance is withdrawable today.
Cleaner Trip Details
Trip detail cards now use simpler distance labels for easier scanning.
