Region and language changes update instantly in real-time without restarting the app, and cleaned up store title headers and calculator labels for better readability across all screens.

This update introduces Quick Tools, accessible from the top navigation bar or directly beside the price entry field. It includes a standard calculator, a percent discount calculator with quick preset buttons, and a deal calculator for determining per-unit costs on multi-buy sales. Input fields now feature single-tap clear icons and a Done button above the numeric keypad for easier keyboard dismissal. We have expanded regional support for the United States, Canada, and Mexico with appropriate currency formats, localized tax labels like GST/HST and IVA, full Spanish language translation, and Spanish voice recognition. Additionally, Settings now includes options to customize or turn off individual Quick Tools menu items.

We implemented a premium, user-friendly grocery item reordering feature that allows users to seamlessly reorganize their grocery items using both interactive drag-and-drop gestures.

We’ve added a new title-generator button (represented by a Sparkles icon) to the Add Grocery Trip screen! Once you select your store, simply tap the sparkles button inside the title field to instantly auto-populate the trip name with your selected store and date.

We are excited to expand our app to support users in Canada and Mexico alongside the United States! This update introduces full localization for English and Spanish, complete with regional default settings that dynamically format currency and adapt tax terminology to match local naming conventions—including GST/HST in Canada, IVA in Mexico, and Sales Tax in the US. You can now easily toggle between languages and regions in the updated settings panel, ensuring a fully customized shopping companion tailored to your local grocery store experience.

We’ve added intelligent background cleanup that automatically merges duplicate stores and prevents empty items from cluttering your lists. Alongside a few behind-the-scenes stability improvements.

The record button now has more room to improve the interface's overall spacing and prevent mis-taps, while the addition of a "Done" button on the keyboard provides a much cleaner way to dismiss the input window after adding a new grocery item. These changes should make the user flow feel a lot more intentional and polished.

Stay Organized with Trip Folders! We’ve reimagined how you view your grocery history. Instantly access today’s active grocery trips right at the top of your list. Your past trips are now neatly organized into yearly and monthly folders. Easily browse through your shopping history without the clutter.

Renamed the app to Minimal Surprises Grocery Bill to better reflect the real-world challenges of estimating total grocery costs, including taxes, additional fees, and bag charges that can be difficult to predict.

Quick Dismiss Keyboard: Added a green checkmark button to the Item Name and Price fields. Tap it to immediately dismiss the keyboard and auto-lookup suggestions. Direct Edit & Delete: Added dedicated Pencil and Delete icons to your grocery list, making it easier to update or remove items with a single tap. Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where lookup items could sometimes duplicate during cloud sync. Use the “Factory Reset Food Items” option to remove duplicates. This will not erase your custom items.

This update improves how grocery trips are recorded and reported. You can now override the creation date when adding a grocery trip, making it easier to enter older receipts and have them appear correctly in your Yearly Summary. We also fixed an issue that could cause duplicate data to be reseeded during automatic lookups. If you’re still seeing duplicate food lookup values, you can resolve this by going to Settings and using Factory Reset Food Items, which will not affect any items you’ve added manually.

We've improved cloud synchronization to prevent duplicate auto lookups and sample data. Before making any changes, please back up your data using the share button. For those who previously experienced duplicate automatic items, a new factory reset option in settings can now help restore your default list. Additionally, we've introduced new reports, allowing you to easily track taxable items and view yearly summaries of your grocery spending.
