WordRain is a calm, quick word game about catching letters before they dry up.
Drag your finger across touching letters, in any direction, to spell words of three letters or more. Used letters vanish, the ones above fall into place, and new letters rain in from the top.
Every letter slowly drains, like a raindrop drying in the sun. Blue is fresh, amber is halfway, red is nearly gone. Use a letter before it runs dry, or it costs you one of your three drops. Lose all three and the rain stops.
The game comes in waves. Each wave asks you to use a number of letters. Clear it and you get a short breather, a drop back, and every letter refills. Each new wave, letters last a little less long, down to a fixed limit, so the game gets harder in steps you can see coming. Nothing ever speeds up behind your back.
• Longer words multiply your score: 4 letters ×2, 5 letters ×3, up to ×6
• Save a red letter just before it dries for a bonus
• Boards are dealt fairly: a good mix of vowels, never a dead board
• A dictionary of nearly 180,000 English words, British and American spellings, with offensive words left out
• Pause any time; the board hides while you're paused
