I feel like this would actually be a really cool app to find other movie-going people but it’s not very populated yet lol. I might just keep my profile on there for a while and see if it grows but currently there’s like 1 person even remotely close by. Also similar to other reviews, the location thing throws me off cuz yeah it’ll say someone is near but they’re in a different city on their profile.
Developer Response
Thanks for sticking around! We are steadily building out the community city by city, and early adopters like you help make that happen. To clarify the location: the "nearby" feed calculates actual distance using live GPS, while the city on a profile is manually chosen by the user (e.g. their home city, even if they're traveling or visiting nearby). We hear you on the confusion though, and we're refining how this is displayed. If you ever want us to check how things look in your region, drop us a line at info@cinemeet.app.
Great app

Bad distance locating
Wordspawn89
Even though I have my location listed in my profile and have the settings at an appropriate distance from my location I’m still getting matches from several hundred miles away. Those matches are listed as 31 miles away but when I click on the profile it says they are in another state.
Developer Response
The distance we show is calculated from real device location, not from the city written on someone's profile. Those two are separate: the city is something each member fills in themselves, so it's usually their home town. If they're travelling or on holiday, their profile still says "Los Angeles, CA" while the distance reflects how far away they actually are from you right now. That's why a profile can correctly read "31 miles away" and still mention a city in another state, and why your distance setting is being applied to the 31 miles, not to the city name. Also, please get in touch at info@cinemeet.app and tell me roughly which area you're in plus one of the profiles you ran into, I'll reproduce it and dig in properly.
Interesting idea

Needs localization, verify users and better time zone support as it’s hard to schedule when the future gets labeled the past.
Developer Response
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Great news: we’ve just released version 1.1.43, which addresses these exact points. We’ve updated our localization with proper measurement units and US time formatting (12-hour AM/PM support), alongside fixes for time zones so future scheduling works seamlessly. Please update to the latest build and give it another shot!
