Less filler, more Gist.
In a world of constant noise, Gist cuts through — a social app where thoughtful, curious people come to share and discover things that are genuinely worth your time. The experience is built around people who post with care and intention, providing recommendations, insights, and ideas across the things that matter most in everyday life.
■ Quality rises
Not everything that catches on is worth catching, and Gist is built around that distinction. The content that rises to the top of Gist is well thought out and rich in substance – what you find here has truly earned its place.
■ Trusted discovery
Quality earns attention on Gist, so the people here post things that are real and worth your time. What you find feels less like content and more like something a trusted friend would share with you.
■ Your interests, your feed
Browse what matters to you — Career, Money, Food, Culture, Travel, Wellness, Family, Beauty, Fashion, Relationships, Home, or Pets — and spend your time in the areas you actually care about.
■ Create your way
Post a video, share an image, start a discussion, or even write a long-form article! We encourage creativity in whatever way you want to express it.
■ Playground
Sharpen up with a daily set of puzzles and games that reward your curiosity as much as they entertain.
■ Gist Spark
For a limited time, Gist Spark is rewarding people who post thoughtful content with a $20 Amazon gift card. Learn more about Gist Spark in the app.

I've downloaded a lot of apps looking for a place to just be honest, and most of them teach you to perform instead. Gist is the first one that didn't ask me to perform.I came in posting a little of everything — no strategy, no polish, just what was actually true that day. And instead of getting swallowed by an algorithm that rewards the loudest version of you, I got met by real people. People who read the whole thing. People who commented like they meant it. People who saw the parts of me I used to think were "too much" and told me those were the parts they related to most. That's rare. That's not a feature you can market — it's something in the foundation. Something about how this app is built makes room for connection instead of just engagement, for the true thing instead of the polished thing. It doesn't ask you to shrink to fit in. It makes space for the version of you that usually gets edited out everywhere else. For a brain that's spent years chasing quick, empty sparks — the kind that fizzle out the second you close the app — this is the first spark that's actually stayed lit. Not because of one good post. Because the app itself seems designed for people to find each other honestly, and that's a foundation worth building a home on.Gist didn't just give me a place to post. It gave me a place to be seen. Five stars isn't even enough.
What social media needs

I am so happy to see something like this. Everything in the app is well-thought out and based on connections and information, not just another reel and attention-span-sucker. It’s main feed is much like Pinterest, with you being able to click in to things you are interested in seeing/reading. The app is still getting the kinks worked out here and there since it is new, but nothing has gotten in my way really. I have great hope for its future!
Switching my stance

Been checking this app for the past week and I think I’m gonna switch from IG to here moving forward. Lots of great recommendations and not the types that’s all about followers and clout. Posted my first topic and gotten some great recommendations about my neighborhood that I’ve been in for 4 years and never knew about it! Gonna be posting all my recos here. It’s also much easier to use compared to TikTok and IG.

I recently found this platform and I have really been impressed. Unlike other social media sites I have used, I do not feel bombarded by ads or AI content. The whole point of Gist is to share information that other people will find helpful. The app is very easy to navigate and is full of information I can actually use. All kinds of creators are welcome! I’ve seen lifestyle stuff, travel stuff, artsy stuff, and wellness stuff to name a few. My niche is family law and that has been well received. One thing I really like is the option to make posts in several types of formats. From picture carousels to blog posts to discussion points you can really find a way to express yourself that feels comfortable for you.
- Smarter search: Faster autocomplete, tappable hashtags, and fresh ways to discover.
- A smoother feed: Endless scrolling on For You, and jump straight into daily games with a tap.
- Faster posting: Your photos and videos now upload in the background while you keep browsing.
- Plus a built-in browser for links, and lots of polish and stability improvements.
