New: Voice Keyboard. Hold a shortcut (⌥Space by default) or the floating Summit widget to dictate into any app, then release to paste the text at the cursor. A live preview shows your words as you speak, and you can resize the widget in Settings. It is off by default. New: Split Recording. Turn one long recording into several notes by choosing where each one starts. Each part gets its own transcript, summary and recording, and the original goes to Recently Deleted. Search is much smarter. Results show why they matched and open the transcript at the matching moment, notes containing every word of your query rank first, filters are applied before ranking, and queries find meaning across languages. Chat finds the right passages more reliably and reads long transcripts page by page. Action items ticked on your iPhone now stay ticked on your Mac. Fixes: iCloud sync now starts when Summit launches. The summary template you choose for a note is now remembered after relaunch. Stray bubbles containing only a period no longer appear in transcripts. Searching for terms like C++ or O'Connor no longer returns nothing. Chat with cloud AI providers no longer fails with a context limit error on long transcripts.

Deleted notes now go to Recently Deleted for 30 days. Restore brings back the whole note: transcript, summary, tags, speakers, calendar link and the recording itself. System audio is now recorded directly through macOS, without screen capture. Zoom no longer hides participants' video while Summit records. You can also turn screen capture off during a call from the screenshot button menu, the menu bar or Settings; audio keeps recording. Summit now notices if system audio access was declined and tells you how to turn it back on, instead of silently recording without the other side of the call. Recording uses much less CPU: screen frames are no longer captured at 60 fps in the background. Fixes: Local AI model downloads now show real progress instead of sitting at 0%. Settings now shows Claude Desktop a connection config it can actually load. The Stop button no longer flickers in and out of the toolbar in narrow or split-screen windows.

You can now correct a wrong speaker identification: remove a misidentified person from a meeting without losing their lines, and undo it if needed. iCloud sync gains encryption key rotation. Change your key from Settings, and recordings waiting on your iPhone will still arrive. If this Mac and iCloud use different keys, Summit stops and lets you choose how to fix it. AI chat and connected AI assistants now always know who said what, so statements are no longer attributed to the wrong person. Documents show the full creation date in the header and in search results. Fixes: Plugging in or unplugging headphones during a recording no longer stops or breaks it. Summit switches to another microphone if yours disconnects, and back again when it returns. Cancel now stops summarization for the whole document in one press. Starting processing by hand clears the "delayed until" banner. Fixed a crash when opening the Transcript tab. Deleting recordings now frees up all the space they used. Connected AI assistants can reconnect without restarting Summit.

Summit now has an optional MCP server that lets you connect it to AI assistants, giving them secure access to your notes, transcripts and search. Live Queries turn a chat into a standing question over your notes, with recurring recaps and a dedicated spot on Home. Chat itself is smarter: it searches and opens your notes while answering, shows its work, links back to sources, and picks a heavier local model automatically when a question needs one. New always-on-top meeting overlay stays visible during calls with an interactive prep tab and remembers where you put it. You can now record screen video alongside audio, capture selectable-area screenshots that land inline in the transcript, split transcript blocks, reassign speakers for part of a conversation, and have speakers recognised live while recording. Calendar recordings got a big pass: skip an entire recurring series, set a default folder per series, start recordings inline from Upcoming Meetings, and have recordings stop automatically when the meeting ends, including Google Meet. Also new: send action items to Apple Reminders, subfolders with drag-to-reorganise, app-wide back and forward navigation, an advanced search sheet, compact and comfortable list views, OpenRouter support, iCloud key transfer by QR code, and a choice of which page Summit opens on. Recordings now write locally first and sync to your storage folder afterwards, so a slow drive never slows down a recording. iCloud sync uses much less memory. Local models now come with clearer guidance about what fits on your Mac. Plus many fixes: warnings when the mic records nothing or conflicts with your speakers, correct folder counts including subfolders, better live transcription bubbles, safer storage migration, secure Keychain storage for API keys, and numerous layout corrections.

Summit now recognizes known speakers live as you record, and you can send action items to Apple Reminders with assignees pre-filled from your meeting. Local AI models are now recommended based on your Mac, and AI models download faster with download progress in the toolbar. Summaries are more accurate, using each recording's actual date and precise timestamps for insights and action items. Action items assigned to a person now show up on their profile. This release also fixes calendar events not updating automatically, notes occasionally losing text, recording duration mismatches, key insights losing their order, and other reliability improvements.

Notes now render as formatted markdown with a quick Edit/Save toggle. Added new Gemma 4, Qwen 3.6 and Qwen 3.5 local models, plus a 24GB RAM category to help you pick the right model for your Mac.
