Woodcraft 2: Woodworking CAD

3D Furniture Plans & Cut Lists

iPad

Covered in Canadian Woodworking. Design in real lumber, get your cut list and bill of materials, and see it full size in your room with augmented reality. Woodcraft is a woodworking app, not a CAD program that happens to draw wood. You lay out real stock, cut it, joint it, and see the whole thing standing before you commit a single board to the saw. If you've used a tape measure, a miter saw and a drill, you already know most of what this app does. It just does it in three dimensions, where mistakes cost nothing. REAL LUMBER, NOT BOXES Boards, sheets and stair stringers at the sizes your supplier actually sells. Nominal sizes get a Rough / Planed toggle, so you can see what the planer takes off. Set up the lengths, thicknesses and corner radii you keep on hand once, and they're there for every project. JOINERY THAT KNOWS WHAT FITS Overlap two pieces and Woodcraft works out how they meet, then offers the joints that suit that arrangement — half lap, rabbet, dado, mortise and tenon, and more. The ones it rules out come with the reason why, so you know how to move the pieces to make it possible. Set the clearance, watch a live preview with the wood about to be removed picked out in red, then cut. YOUR CUT LIST WRITES ITSELF The Build Booklet is in two parts. A bill of materials — your shopping list at the timber yard. And a cut list setting out every operation on every board: crosscuts, miters and bevels, angles, kerf, and where each offcut lands. It comes out as a PDF to print, take to the bench, or send to whoever's doing the cutting. It stays honest, too. Because every piece remembers the board it came from, copying a piece copies the whole board — one more real board on your list, offcuts and all, exactly as it would be in the shop. TOOLS YOU ALREADY KNOW Miter saw, tape measure, drill press. Move, rotate, align and orient. Repeat a run of pieces by count, gap or length — ten slats, evenly spaced, in one move. Marks and measurements that belong to the wood and travel with it when you move a piece. Layers, a grid, snapping, and a recycle pile that holds what you removed until you're sure. A WORKSPACE THAT DOESN'T COVER YOUR WORK Front, top, side, free — as many views as you want, each set up on its own. Tools run in their own viewport, next to your project instead of on top of it, so you watch a cut take shape in the view you were already using. SEE IT BEFORE YOU BUILD IT Explode the assembly to see how it goes together, the way an instruction booklet does. Switch on collisions to see exactly how far one piece runs into another. On iPad, stand the finished piece in your room at full size and walk around it. On an Apple silicon Mac, send it to Apple Vision Pro and the headset follows your work as you change it. TYPE SIZES THE WAY YOU WRITE THEM 2' 5 3/16". 1 1/4". 1m50. Imperial or metric, whichever you type — with separate units for lumber, distances, drilling and the saws, so you can size boards in inches and drill in millimetres if that's how your shop works. SHARE IT Send a model to a client and they can turn the piece around without being able to change a dimension. Send the project file to a workshop partner and they carry on where you left off. Or publish to the gallery, where other woodworkers can see what you've built. BOUGHT ONCE No subscription. No in-app purchases. Nothing held back for a higher tier. Your projects are ordinary files, on your device or in iCloud, and they stay yours. Built by one developer who has been making woodworking software since 2011, for people who would rather find the mistake on screen than in the wood. English and French. Requires iPadOS 26 or macOS 26.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

NEW: PROPS Place simple stand-ins (a wall, a pool, a tree) and design your project around them. Props snap, align and measure like any other piece. They’re see-through, and a toggle lets you select right through them to the work behind. They stay out of your Build Booklet and shared models. IMPROVEMENTS • Tap a dimmed button in the toolbar to see why it isn't available. • A cleaner layout when viewing a Gallery project. • Tools use colour more consistently, so it's clearer what you can interact with. FIXES • Opening, reopening and duplicating projects is more reliable from folders outside Woodcraft's own. • Duplicated pieces now stay inside the workspace. • Welcome cards fit small windows.
