Every street has stories. Hereabouts finds the ones around you and turns them into a walk.
AROUND YOU
Wherever you are, Hereabouts shows the places nearby — temples, markets, old streets, landmarks — each with its story, how far it is, and a street-level look before you go. Stories come from Wikipedia, with authors and licences credited.
STORY WALKS
Pick a walk and Hereabouts strings nearby places into a route with a theme. Put your phone away: when you reach the next stop it buzzes and shows you what you're standing in front of. Afterwards, a recap of where you went.
DAYS AND TRIPS
Plan today, tomorrow or a whole trip. Each day becomes a story line — morning, afternoon and evening, each in its own part of town. Move places between days, add the ones you've saved, and start again from where you are.
TAKE IT OFFLINE
Save a day before you go, with its photos, stories and walking routes, so it still works without signal.

• Walk somewhere. Choose a destination and Hereabouts plans the way, letting you know when you pass a place with a story. It can also show cafés, bookshops or record shops along the way.
• Keep a walk to one theme: sacred places, history, parks and water, streets and markets, or buildings and art.
• Take a break. Pause a walk for lunch and carry on any time that day.
• Share your walk as a poster. Your full route stays hidden unless you choose to show it.
• Browse nearby by the kinds of place Apple Maps knows, from cafés to record shops.
• On iPad, the list and the place you chose sit side by side.
Smoother everywhere
• Opens right where you last were, and keeps the city name up to date as you walk between neighbourhoods.
• Choose a city at the start if you'd rather look around before turning on location.
• Plans remember the places you added yourself and the city they're in, and stay as they were if you replan offline.
• Removing a trip keeps the days you've already walked.
• Clearer offline saving and search messages, and better VoiceOver support.
