One of the most negotiable currencies in 2026 is definitively the value of nostalgia. Not just for its sake alone, but any genuine means to harken back to a golden age. As an elder millennial, the glory days of the video store experience tug at the heartstrings with a perpetual nagging. This app provides an avenue to relive those days in a world built on a digital infrastructure. When Movies Anywhere hit the scene a few years ago, I was thrilled to find a hub where all my digital movies could overlap and be available on a number of platforms. As the landscape of the streaming model diversifies on a seemingly continues expansion, finding a new home to collect a digital library with the front loaded interface of that video store feel baked in is a game changer. I could not love this app more. The care and consideration that went into the architecture is exemplified in the integrity and heart emanating off the screen when you use it. Every part of that Blockbuster encounter is there at the click of a button. From perusing cover boxes endlessly in search of the perfect rental tonight to the aesthetic of digital patrons browsing in the background amid TV’s playing classic films and even outdoor traffic to round out the entire perspective. So it doesn’t matter what generation you’re a part of, grab this app and bring that piece of the 80’s/90’s reminiscing to life and carry it in your pocket wherever you go.
Blockbuster 2.0?

This app definitely has the retro feel of being back in the day at your local video store looking for the latest release. Definitely has a well thought out design and I look forward to utilizing its extensive catalog.
Home Video Club 1.14 includes improvements from recent tester feedback.
This update improves Plex library browsing and Video Store setup:
- Multiple Plex movie and TV libraries now combine into one Movies and Shows catalog.
- Duplicate titles across libraries are grouped while preserving each playable Plex version.
- Titles with multiple versions, such as 4K and 1080p, now let users choose which Plex version to play.
- Opening Night Setup helps new store owners name and stock their first custom shelf.
- Staff Picks, custom shelves, and imported Plex shelves now share a clearer Clerk-guided Sign, Blurb, and Shelf editing flow.
- Large libraries are easier to browse while stocking shelves with paged results, Previous/Next controls, and selectable page sizes.
This build also includes UI polish and reliability fixes for request handling, shelf editing, and Plex playback selection.
