Hikarista analyzes your video and automatically splits it into scenes.
From there, you can choose what you want to do with each scene:
• Find the best shots and save them as photos
• Automatically split your video into scenes and save them as individual videos
• Automatically crop each scene
Instead of going through your video from beginning to end yourself, Hikarista analyzes its content scene by scene and helps you get the results you want with less work.
■ Find the Best Shots
There are moments in your videos that you’d love to keep as photos.
But finding that perfect moment by scrubbing through a video yourself can be a hassle.
Hikarista scores video frames based on focus, camera shake, composition, brightness, and whether a face is present, then uses AI to suggest the best frames from each scene.
Save any frame you like as a photo at the video’s original size and quality.
There are four extraction modes with different numbers of photos. Try them out and see which one works best for you:
• Espresso (fewer)
• Americano (more)
• Barista (we’ll pick what looks best)
• Chapter (fast mode that only splits the video into scenes)
You can also cancel the extraction and save photos manually while stepping through the video frame by frame.
■ Split Videos into Scenes
Instead of simply splitting your video at fixed intervals, Hikarista analyzes its content and automatically finds scene boundaries.
Trim and save just the scenes you want.
• Scene boundaries are detected automatically
• You can also set the range manually
• Split scene information can be copied in SRT format
• Each scene can be saved as an individual video
■ Auto Crop Video
Hikarista analyzes each scene and automatically determines a suitable crop position based on the areas most likely to draw visual attention.
It’s especially useful for turning landscape videos into vertical short-form videos.
• Choose a vertical or horizontal aspect ratio
• Crop positions are determined automatically for each scene
• You can also adjust the crop position manually if you want
• The original video is cropped without being scaled up or down
• Save the cropped scenes as a single video
■ Photo Effects
After saving your favorite frames as photos, you can process them with Hikarista’s photo effects:
• Enhance Photo
Enhances photos up to 2048 pixels
• Depth Blur
Adds simulated depth-of-field blur using AI depth analysis
• Miniature Effect
Creates a toy-camera or tilt-shift effect using AI depth analysis
• View in 3D
Creates a 3D mesh from your photo for viewing in AR
• Carbon Relief
Creates a carbon-freezing effect inspired by technology from a galaxy far, far away

Everything runs entirely on your iPhone/iPad.
Your videos, photos, and analysis data are never uploaded anywhere, so you can use the app with peace of mind.
Notes:
• Processing may take longer depending on the video resolution, duration, and your device. Start with a short video, then sit back and enjoy a good cup of coffee while you wait.
• Saving photos from videos is free. Saving photos processed with Enhance Photo, Depth Blur, or Miniature Effect requires a Pro upgrade.
• Saving all automatically split scene videos at once requires a Pro upgrade or the Scene Split Pack. Saving scenes one by one is, of course, free.
• Videos created with Auto Crop Video include a crab at the end. Removing it requires a Pro upgrade or Remove Crab.
• Changing and saving advanced Auto Crop settings requires a Pro upgrade or Saliency Controls.
