This one is all about speed. • Saving an event is instant. The button used to sit there for seconds without a word; now your event is ready the moment you tap, shared calendars included. • Everything moves lighter: the calendar, your agenda and date lists scroll without a stutter, however many events you have.

The app is 8 MB lighter: we removed a video that shipped with every download and was never shown. And if you see ads, you can now remove them right from Home.

Fixed: on Android, notifications could stop arriving for good after a force stop; now they come back on their own when you open the app. Chile gains 29 new regional festivities with the right date every year. And when your logbook is empty, you can now create an event right there.

• Search festivities by name across the whole country and year, and in Peru pick your destination by department, province and district, now with all its festivities for the next 12 months. • The festivities map now has its buttons inside it and, in full screen, the event you pick opens in a panel from the bottom. • New international days, such as World Alzheimer's Day, and a shortcut to the Premium plans from the + button.

• New: Lifetime Premium, one payment and no renewals. • Every festivity in Explore now shows its description: venue, times, prices and more, with “Show more” to read it all. • With the map in full screen, the event you pick is shown in full and can be scrolled.

• Chile's national holidays: fondas and events in 173 communes, with venue, times and prices. • Explore now lives in the bottom bar: save favorite events with a heart and browse the list under the map. • Offline, Explore shows the festivities saved on your phone. • The map no longer covers the "+" menu or other screens, and the enlarge button works. • Widgets get more room at the top, and dark Agenda matches the app. • "Menu" is now called Settings.

Your calendar now sets itself up, and brings everything new from the past few months. YOUR COUNTRY, RIGHT FROM THE START • The app detects your country and opens in your capital city, with your public holidays and your language. • The season of the year, the equinoxes and the solstices follow your hemisphere. WIDGETS ON YOUR SCREEN • Weekly schedule widget: your events for the next 7 days, with their colors. • On the Lock Screen, your upcoming events, with the option to hide the titles. • Countdown widget to the next public holiday and the next long weekend. DISCOVER FESTIVALS • Find patron saint festivals, town fairs and local traditions near you or at your next destination. • Add them to your calendar, open them in Maps and follow destinations to get alerts. PLAN YOUR TIME OFF • Work out which days to request so you can chain together the longest possible break. • Regional public holidays in Peru and Chile based on your city, including those for the public sector. SALARY AND SEVERANCE CALCULATORS • Salary and severance pay in Peru, Chile, Spain, the United States, Argentina, Brazil, China, India and Indonesia. • Peru: annual all-inclusive salary, agreed net salary and termination incentive. CONNECTED CALENDARS • We let you know when a new event appears in your Google or iPhone calendars. • Also when an event changes date or time, showing you the previous time. ALSO • Quechua (Runa Simi) and Aymara (Aymar aru). • Clearer text on the main screen, following your system text size. • Day and month names corrected in dozens of languages.
