My Hero Patient Portal
Your Health, In Your Hands
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
My Hero is a secure patient portal for patients of participating healthcare practices. Depending on your practice, use the app to view appointments, exchange secure messages with your care team, review health records, manage billing information, upload requested documents, and keep account settings current.
Bluetooth blood pressure device support is intended for patients in the United States using compatible FDA-cleared blood pressure monitors. Use connected medical devices only as directed by the device manufacturer and your clinician. My Hero does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical judgment. Seek a doctor's advice in addition to using this app and before making any medical decisions. For emergencies, call 911 or your local emergency number.

For patients
When you add a card, you can now authorize your practice to use it for visit charges, and a card you saved earlier shows an Authorize button if it still needs your OK. If booking needs a card on file, the app explains what to do and takes you to your cards.
For clinicians
Linking this phone for controlled prescriptions by QR code now confirms a code texted to your verified phone before the phone is linked.
Plus fixes and improvements.

For patients
Messages has a new All in one view, with every conversation with your practice in one place. Forms now show check-all, pick-one and auto-filled date fields properly.
For clinicians
The inbox can group everything by patient and shows phone alerts. Sign several controlled prescriptions together, with one Face ID per patient. Linking this phone for controlled prescriptions checks the code first, explains plainly when a code can't be used, and finishes in one flow.
Plus fixes and improvements.

Supervising physicians can now review and sign controlled prescriptions sent to them for signature directly in the app, and get a notification when one arrives. Bug fixes and improvements.

For clinicians: a fuller inbox
Patient conversations fold and expand like on the web, with Hero reply drafts, urgent flags, attachments and a call button. You can mark items unread, forward them and work through voicemail. Pharmacy renewal requests can be answered with the renewal safety check, and a request someone else already answered says who answered it. If Hero can't confirm an answer reached the pharmacy, the request shows Not sent, with Send again. Results show every lab value, with Results Hero to tell the patient once. New Co-sign and Refills folders let you co-sign notes and decide portal refill requests from your phone. Lab, note and imaging pages show the patient's name and date of birth, and forms past their due date are marked Overdue.
For patients
Each visit opens its own summary. You can share a lab result, imaging report or note. Visit cards show where to go, with directions and Add to calendar. If your care team monitors a reading, you can type it in yourself. Records opened for one family member stay with that person when you switch, and Help & Support shows your practice's phone number. Invited patients confirm their date of birth before signing up, links that can no longer be used say so clearly, and if your practice still needs your date of birth on file you can call them from the app.
For everyone
The side menu now reaches the bottom of the screen, so every item and Sign Out is easy to reach. Signing in with Google no longer closes before you can choose an account.
Plus fixes for scheduling, registration, letters, sign-in, messages, small screens and large text.
1.0.27 Oct 12
Messages
When you write to your care team you can now choose Routine or Urgent. Choosing Urgent shows how to reach 988 or 911 right away, because messages are not watched around the clock. Photos you attach are uploaded before the message is sent, so a message never arrives without them. Replies in a conversation started for your child now work for parents.
Crisis help
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call, text or chat) is easier to reach in messages, questionnaires, pre-visit paperwork, self-care and letter requests, and it stays readable at the largest text sizes.
Records and forms
Letter and visit dates show the right day, lab panels show every result, and results outside the normal range are clearly marked. Visit summaries written by the computer are labeled as such. Forms that are completed at your visit say so.
Profile and notifications
Profile changes save correctly, you can show your pronouns when your practice turns them on, and you can choose which notifications you get for each topic.
For clinicians
Signing out never silently deletes a recording that has not been written to a note. Prescriptions show the patient's allergies and check for conflicts before sending. Message replies go to the right person, the To field searches as you type, and lab and note dates are correct. Hospital rounding supports the consulting role and links stays to the chart.
Plus many fixes for small screens and large text.
1.0.23 Oct 11
Check-in kiosk
Staff can sign in on a check-in iPad again: after the password, the app asks for a passkey or a text code. A check-in tablet now recovers on its own after a lost connection, keeps its setup when walk-up check-in is turned off, asks before removing its setup, and saves phone number changes made at check-in.
Preferred names
Patients and staff can record a preferred name, and the app greets patients by it.
Signing in
Fixed an issue where signing in, including with Apple, could stay on the loading screen. If sign-in cannot finish, the app now tells you why and lets you cancel, or sign out and try again. Deleting and reinstalling the app now fully resets it.
Forms and questionnaires
Questionnaires from your care team now always appear in Forms & questionnaires, including ones that are not tied to an upcoming visit and ones for a visit that has already started.
Appointments
If you confirmed your visit by replying to the reminder text, you can now check in, cancel or reschedule it from the app. Clinicians can check in, start or reschedule a confirmed visit from the schedule.
Patient messages
Fixed an issue that could cut off message text. Conversations keep your reading position when messages refresh, and a new reply appears on its own when you are at the bottom of the conversation.
Prescribing
The EPCS approval screen now opens above the prescription form, and returning to the form preserves your draft.
Team chat
You can now start a new conversation with the same person or people under a new topic: pick people, type an optional topic and tap Start. If you pick one person and leave the topic blank, the conversation you already have with them opens. The app also stops trying to reconnect to team chat after your chat access is removed.
Dictation
If a visit's note cannot open after a recording, you can now save the recording for later and open other visits instead of being stuck. The floating recording pill can be moved to either side and minimized to a dot so it no longer covers what is behind it.
Video visits
The Join button now stays available for a video visit that has already started, and for visits you confirmed by text.
1.0.22 Oct 7
Staff mode
Medical assistants, nurses and office managers can now sign in to the clinician app. Staff choose a provider to see that provider's schedule, and use the inbox, patients, team chat, todos and phone according to their permissions. Provider-only features such as prescribing and orders stay hidden for staff.
Billing
A charge whose share is held for a secondary insurance claim now shows as pending other insurance instead of offering Pay Now.
Documents and questionnaires
Archived letters and forms now say they are being retrieved and when to check back, instead of failing to open. Answers saved on the phone for a questionnaire that was removed are cleared.
1.0.16 Sep 30
Scheduling
When you book or reschedule a visit, suggested start times now follow each visit type's own schedule, such as every visit length, matching the web scheduler.
Walk-up check-in
Practices can set up an iPad as a front-desk check-in station where patients check themselves in, update their details, complete forms and pay. If a patient's forms can't open after check-in, the check-in is still recorded and the patient is asked to see the front desk.
Dictation
Encounter dictation is easier to follow, and saved recordings can be retranscribed with your My templates.
Medications and pharmacies
A reworked medication list grouped by status, and your practice's pharmacy list in both pharmacy pickers.
Calendar and insurance
Blocked time shows on the calendar, and insurance payers match more reliably.
Fixes
Open encounter notes reconnect more reliably after the app returns from the background or the network changes. Inquiry and referral details no longer crash, and Sign out is easier to reach from the sidebar.
Kiosk fix — After staff exit kiosk mode, signing out or restarting the app now keeps the device in the regular Hero app.
1.0.15 Sep 28
Clinical photos and feedback
Physicians can mark the body location when saving a clinical photo, and Settings now offers an easy way to share feedback.
Apple Health and self-care
Apple Health sync shows clear progress and can pause and resume. Self-care adds continuous meditation and breathing, new voices, and a larger music library.
Inbox and records
Inbox items marked Done stay in sync with the web, and Records follows your practice's record-sharing setting.
1.0.12 Sep 17
New self-care experiences
Explore guided breathing, meditation, and relaxing music, with new voice choices and improved playback controls.
Smoother care and practice workflows
Improved appointment scheduling, patient registration, messaging, and physician navigation.
Reliability improvements
More reliable sign-in, account switching, and encounter startup, plus fixes and refinements throughout the app.
1.0.11 Sep 10
Soaper Phone
Your practice line now lives in the app. Incoming calls ring with the familiar iPhone call screen even when the app is in the background or closed, so a call routed to you is never missed. Place calls from the built-in dialer with recent patients one tap away, and use mute, hold, keypad and transfer while you are on a call.
Faster new patient registration
Register a new patient in a fraction of the time by scanning a driver's license or state ID and an insurance card with the camera. The scanner now reads the barcode on the back of a license, and close-up focus is much sharper, so cards and barcodes capture on the first try.
