Gastón: month of expenses
Installments, bills & month
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Your whole month on a calendar. Pesos, dollars, what is coming, and a Monthly Review of what actually changed.
Your month, not the receipt.
I show you the month: what already went, what's coming, in pesos and in dollars.
• Calendar — your month at a glance
• USD & ARS — exchange rates kept up to date
• Monthly Review — what actually changed
• Recurring bills and installments — what's coming, on the calendar
• Budgets — limits per category, and the real numbers behind them
• One account, every device — pick up where you left off
• Your data, yours — export anytime, delete your account anytime
Gastón is a personal expense tracking tool, not financial advice.

more • Shared spaces: say who paid, split an expense, see balances and settle up.
• In a shared space the Log shows who added each expense, and the Monthly review shows your share.
• Fixed expenses now show what's paid and what's pending this month, with what each one last cost and when it was charged.
• Set a payment method on a fixed expense.
• The Inbox shows the payment method an item will be confirmed under.
• Importing a statement is one step now: pick the card or account, then the file.
• Name a category and I suggest its icon.
• Move an expense up or down within its day in the Log.
• The Log has a Payments view that breaks the month down by payment method.
• Days now follow your own time zone.
1.14.0 4d ago
• Gastón Plus is here: unlimited chat, WhatsApp capture, and statement imports for $1.99 a month.
• A new opening animation, rebuilt from the ground up.
• Uploading a bank statement now asks how you paid for it, right away.
• The Inbox now flags an expense with no amount or a shaky read, instead of guessing silently.
• Fixed the usage bar on Your plan disagreeing with its own label.
• Clearer wording on the What else Gastón does screen.
1.13.0 Sep 22
• Turn an expense you already logged into installments or a fixed expense, right from Edit.
• Reopen your WhatsApp chat with me from inside the app, no need to search for it.
• Resetting your password now finishes in the app instead of a browser tab.
• A new Your plan screen shows what you have used this month.
• Long-press a message in our chat to copy it.
• A new opening animation.
• Private mode is a working toggle again in Preferences.
1.12.0 Sep 16
• The You tab is organized now: your profile up top, then Your money, More from Gastón and Preferences, with a one-line hint on every row.
• Monthly review and Records have moved to a new Looking back card at the end of Home.
• When a screen could not refresh, I try again as soon as you come back to the app, tell you when it was last updated, and remind you that you can pull down to retry.
• Opening the app is lighter: I load your settings once instead of separately for every screen.
• On iOS 26, the badge on the Home bell is no longer cut off at the top.
1.11.1 Sep 11
• Log an expense from WhatsApp. Connect your number in the app, then message me "2500 at the supermarket" — I read it and leave it waiting in your Inbox, where you set the category and payment method when you confirm it. Text only for now: no voice notes or photos yet.
• A notification bell on Home, so anything I have sent you is one tap away instead of buried under You.
• The Inbox groups captures that look like expenses you already logged, so you can review them together, collapse them, or skip the whole group in one go.
• Skipping an Inbox line now asks why — already logged, not an expense, or I got it wrong — and asking never blocks the skip.
• When the book you are in is shared, its name shows on Home, the Inbox, the Log and the expense form, so you always know which one you are adding to.
• Signing in as somebody else on the same phone no longer leaves you looking at the book from the account you signed out of.
• Leaving a shared book as its last member no longer strands you on a screen with nowhere to go.
• Settings no longer shows five switches that did not change anything.
1.11.0 Sep 11
• Tapping the total on the Log no longer takes the screen down. It opens the Categories view, which crashed on any amount large enough to be shortened — routine in pesos, which is why peso accounts hit it and dollar accounts never did.
• Save an expense with no signal: it waits in a queue and sends itself once you are back online.
• Installment plans can be saved offline too, and a queue that replays creates one plan, never two.
• An expense the server refused can now be fixed and sent again, not just retried or discarded.
• Lists you already opened stay readable with no signal, and say when they are remembered rather than current.
• Losing signal no longer signs you out, or resets the app to English.
• Ask Gastón in chat and he can draft an expense you log with one tap.
• Pick a payment method when you confirm something from the Inbox.
• An Inbox line that names cuotas can be added as the whole plan, future installments included, instead of just the single charge.
• The Inbox shows the currency it will actually record, so a charge in dollars no longer lands as pesos.
• Amounts group thousands while you type.

1.9.0 Sep 2
• Your totals no longer add up amounts in different currencies. A month holding both ARS 500,000 and USD 20 used to read as 500,020 pesos; Gastón now reports one currency and names the expenses it left out.
• Recurring charges and installments that your month total already counts now appear in the log, in their own section under the day cards, instead of being counted but shown nowhere.
• Fixed expenses no longer appear twice — Active and Upcoming were listing the same ones.
• The switch that decides whether a recurring expense is recorded automatically now says that is what it does, instead of describing the amount.
• Breakdown and installments open in the same place on the expense form, and every search field now has a one-tap clear button.
• Large amounts read the right way round: 5.96 M ARS, not 5,96 ARS M.
• Categories use line icons instead of emoji, everywhere and on every new account.
• The home screen drops the week strip that could not tell a heavy week from a normal one, and keeps the number worth reading — your heaviest day — next to your spending pace.
• The Inbox marks a row that rolls up several card fees, so you can tell a sum of many charges from a single purchase.
• With no signal, Gastón says you are offline instead of showing “Network request failed”.
1.8.4 Aug 27
• Sheets and forms now lift clear of the keyboard, so the field you are typing in stays visible — and tapping outside closes the keyboard without throwing away your edit.
• The Inbox is properly editable: amounts save, every queued line shows its date, and the filters only offer what can actually match.
• Statement imports tell you how many lines were skipped, name the fees your card withheld, and say what to do when a PDF is password-protected.
• Confirming a whole batch now depends on how much of the statement Gastón could actually read.
• Chat: stop an answer mid-thought, see what it is waiting on, and “New chat” now really deletes the conversation.
• Chat warns you before it reaches its daily limit, and that limit is spread across the month instead of running out early.
• Set your name from your profile, and Gastón asks for it if your account never had one.
• Category names are fully translated.
• Sign-in fixes: Google no longer gets stuck on a stale redirect, and a failed sign-in tells you so instead of doing nothing.
1.8.3 Aug 19
• Meet Gastón: ask about your spending in plain language and get a straight answer, right from the home screen.
• Import a bank or card statement from your Inbox — Gastón reads the lines, you confirm which ones are real, and they land as expenses.
• Card purchases in dollars are priced at the tarjeta rate, with its own history, so your totals match what the bank actually charges you.
• Logging an expense is quicker: mode chips replace the old “More options” panel.
• Log a name you’ve broken down before and Gastón offers you the same breakdown again.
• Installments now keep the payment method you chose.
• Amounts accept the decimal separator your keyboard actually types.
• Password recovery tells an expired reset link apart from an invalid one, and always gives you a way forward.
• More fixes and refinements throughout.
1.8.2 Aug 14
• Categories have their own screen now: what you’ve spent, the expenses behind that number, and the parent category it sits under.
• Archive a category instead of deleting it. The history stays intact and the category stops cluttering your lists. Delete is still there for the ones you never used.
• Merge one category into another, and the expenses, budgets and recurring bills all move across with it.
• Create a category without leaving the expense you’re logging.
• Tap through from a spending breakdown straight to the category behind it.
• Multi-currency: when an expense can’t be converted, the notice now names exactly which ones and takes you to them, so you can set a rate and see a real total.
• Dates follow your app language unless you’ve picked a format yourself.
• More fixes and refinements throughout.
1.8.0 Aug 13
• Expensely is now Gastón — new name, new look, and a new face to keep you honest about where your money goes.
• A redesigned Log screen: break your month down by category — with a spending donut and monthly pace — or by the installments due this month.
• Faster entry: start typing a name and Gastón pre-fills the category and payment method, with your most-used methods first.
• Tap any expense to see its details before you edit or delete it.
• Manage your categories straight from the You tab.
• Multi-currency totals now convert each expense at its own date’s rate, so past months stop shifting.
• Fixed: expenses added in the evening no longer save on the wrong day.
• More fixes and refinements throughout.
