Can't light a real menorah this Hanukkah? Or brings the ritual to your iPhone — realistic flame physics, guided blessings, and a 30-minute burning timer.
Light the darkness with Or, the most realistic and halachically conscious virtual Menorah experience on iOS.
Designed for those who cannot light a physical flame—whether in a hospital, dorm, hotel, or on the go—Or (Light) brings the warmth and sanctity of Hanukkah directly to your hand.
Unlike other apps that simply "turn on" a graphic, Or simulates the actual ritual:
Realistic Physics: Drag the match or Shamash to light each candle.
Interactive Flames: Watch the embers glow and flames dance with your phone's movement.
Strict Adherence (Traditional Mode): Carefully designed to follow the correct halachic order for lighting (right to left) and kindling (left to right).
Prayer Companion: Automatically displays the correct blessings (Brachot) for each night in clear Hebrew, transliteration, and English translation.
Full Mitzvah Experience: Includes a "Burning Mode" with a timer that keeps the candles lit for the traditional 30 minutes, complete with a meditative ember background.
Key Features:
Two Modes: "Traditional" for strict ritual adherence, and "Free Mode" for educational or casual use.
Integrated Siddur: Essential prayers and blessings popup right when you need them.
Burning Timer: A 30-minute countdown to fulfill the requirement of the candles burning for half an hour.
Stunning Visuals: Deep, atmospheric backgrounds with floating embers and responsive flame animations.
Haptic Feedback: Feel the "spark" when you light a candle.
Perfect for travelers, students, patients, or anyone wishing to connect with Jewish tradition when a physical menorah isn't an option.
Chag Sameach!
