Keep the words that stayed with you, and trace them now and then. That quiet repetition is what makes them yours. Everything you write stays on your device. No ads. Collect words. Shape who you are. A moment of joy. A line that moved you. Words you wanted to hold on to — You felt them so clearly at the time, yet somewhere in the rush of daily life, they can quietly fade. It's said that the mind is easily drawn toward worries, and that we can find ourselves turning them over and over. This is thought to be part of how we protect ourselves. But when we're feeling low, warm memories can become harder to recall. At the same time, research has shown that the more often we recall something, the more deeply it settles in memory. One study also found that recalling happy memories after a stressful experience eased people's stress response. Which words you choose, and how often you return to them, can gently change the texture of your own past. Kokoro Pocket was born from this idea. ◆ What you can do • Write down words A passage from a book, words from someone dear, a feeling that suddenly surfaces. Gently set down the moment that moved you, in words that are yours alone. You can add a cherished photo, too. • Keep them close Swipe right on the words you want to see again and again. They're pinned to the top of the screen, always within reach. • Tuck them into the inner pocket Once a word has settled deeply within you, swipe left to tuck it into the inner pocket. It isn't gone — it quietly gathers as a part of you. You can bring it back anytime. • Trace the words Tap the play button, and your words appear one at a time. Tap a word, and it softly disappears. Trace it gently in your mind, then tap once more to meet it again. There's no need to force yourself to memorize. Coming back to your words now and then, over days, helps them stay with you. ◆ What Kokoro Pocket hopes for Tuck the words that resonate into your pocket, and now and then, take them out and trace them. I hope this quiet repetition gently softens the past, and makes today — and the days to come — just a little warmer. I made this app with that wish. ◆ About the app's color Kokoro Pocket shows no ads, and every feature is free to use. If you'd like to change how it looks, a one-time purchase lets you choose the app's color: Blossom, Sky, Leaf, Dusk, Shore, Rose, Sunset, and the original one. Eight in all. Before buying, you can tap any of them to preview it in a sample on the purchase screen. Nothing is restricted either way — only the color changes. ◆ Your own quiet place The words and photos you keep here stay on your device. The app never sends them to any server, and they're never seen by anyone else. To check the color purchase, the app briefly connects to a purchase service — for example, when it opens — but the words and photos you keep here are never sent along with it. Write freely, and with peace of mind.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

Photos are now added by choosing them from your photo library. If you try to close the screen while you're still writing, the app now checks with you first. I've also revised the "About Kokoro Pocket" page in light of memory research.
