Bug fixes and improvements.

Refreshed, glassier buttons when you create or edit a post.

• Posting with several photos no longer freezes while they're being checked. Adding an aircraft by hand now goes through straight away.

• Awards you earn while you're away, like Popular Spotter when someone likes your photo, now play their full medal moment the next time you open the app • You get a notification whenever you earn an award • Award moments no longer appear on top of the welcome tour or setup

• The welcome tour's Earn XP card now shows three medals rising in, one after another • The award moment after posting now shows each medal in its real rarity and XP • Typing in a new registration no longer leaves extra empty aircraft behind when you change it before posting

• Achievements are now medals. Every unlock gets a full-screen award moment, and you can spin the medal to see its engraved back • Tap an achievement notification to see its award again • Add GIFs to comments and replies: search GIPHY or pick from trending, and they play right in the thread • Liking a reply no longer pushes it out of its thread • Behind-the-scenes improvements to how we measure which features get used, with no personal details collected

• A new welcome walkthrough with full-screen spotter photos • Fixed being stuck on screens that couldn't load after your session expired: the app now renews it, or signs you out cleanly so you can sign back in • Achievements redesigned: each ladder is one card, colour-coded by rarity, with your progress to the next tier • Discoveries now list only the aircraft you were first to spot • Share a video spot as a video: the clip plays inside your card, from the moment the plane is in view, and the card preview plays it too • Sharing no longer freezes the app while the card is made • Long registrations, airlines and usernames show in full on share cards • Discover's search now sits in the header, and tapping a search button opens it ready to type • Planes you tag by drawing a box now show on the post's review step

• Tag up to five friends on a spot, and see who was there with you. Choose who can tag you in Settings • Share a spot as a story, a boarding pass or a clean photo • Invite a friend to TailSpotter straight from the app • See where the plane in a spot is right now: on the ground, departing, landing or flying, and where it's headed when we know • Tap it to follow the aircraft on the map with its track, plus everyone's spots of it • Posting keeps going in the background, even if you leave the app, with your post shown at the top of the feed until it's up • The feed keeps your place when you come back to it

• TailSpotter is now a much smaller download • Smoother scrolling through the feed • Resizing an aircraft box while tagging is smooth again, and works from any corner • Deleting a spot from its own page now asks for confirmation right there

• Tag every aircraft in your photos. TailSpotter finds the aircraft for you and reads registrations it can see; you confirm or adjust the boxes and add any it missed • On a post, tap an aircraft to see which is which, or long press a photo in the feed to show the tagged aircraft • Posts now appear on the page of every aircraft tagged in them, and search finds them by any of those registrations • Full-screen photos and videos now use the whole screen

• Sign in with your email: we send you a 6-digit code, no Apple or Google account needed • A quick intro tour for new spotters, plus tips the first time you open the camera and Nearby • Send feedback straight from Settings • Text now grows with your iPhone's text size, and VoiceOver reads photos, likes and buttons clearly

Fixes: the comment box on a post is no longer hidden behind the tab bar, and photos you've already seen now appear instantly instead of fading in every time.

Signing in with Google is now more reliable: it uses Google's own sign-in sheet instead of a web page that could occasionally fail with a "missing initial state" error.

• Tapping a notification about your post now opens it directly — you land right on the photo instead of your notifications list. • Photo viewer: pinch, pan and double-tap now feel native — zoom in, pan around, and pinch back out freely. Swipe down at original size to dismiss. • Smoother scrolling: photos load ahead of you and decode at screen size, so new images no longer hitch the feed. • Loading states everywhere: feeds, Discover, notifications and nearby traffic show placeholders instead of a blank screen while they load. • Discover: the search field responds to a tap again.

• Tapping a notification about your post now opens it directly — you land right on the photo instead of your notifications list. • Photo viewer: pinch back out of a zoom freely. Zooming out no longer starts closing the photo; swipe down when it's at rest to dismiss.

Bug fix: your profile now loads right away after you sign in — your stats and posts appear immediately instead of showing an empty page until you left and reopened the tab.

Tidier photo galleries. When a spot has photos of different shapes, the first photo now sets the frame and the rest fit neatly inside it — no stretching, no cropping, and the card no longer jumps as you swipe between them.

Smoother photos. Images now fade in gently over placeholder skeletons instead of loading spinners, so the feed and spot views feel faster and more polished.

Fixed an issue where a notification that arrived while the app was open could open its linked screen on its own. Now that only happens when you tap the notification.

Liking a post in your feed no longer clears the note explaining why it's there.

Discover Search moves next to notifications, and Discover takes its place in the tab bar — spotters, airports, aircraft and airlines worth following, each shown with real photos. Follow more than people Follow an airport, a specific airframe, an aircraft family like the Boeing 737, or an airline. Your feed now tells you why each spot is there, and you can manage everything you follow from your profile. Airport pages Tap the airport on any spot to see everything logged there. New post notifications A push and an email when someone you follow posts. Off any time in Settings. Also: spotter levels on every card, and first-discovery badges grouped into one card instead of dozens.

Links to TailSpotter spots now open in the app. Tap a shared post from Messages, or a link on the web, and you land straight on that spot instead of in the browser.
