New in version 7: Bibliography Health Check. • Find duplicate citation keys, likely duplicate references, missing common fields, and DOI formatting problems. • Expand issues to compare original references, including titles, authors, publication details, DOI values, and source locations. • Open .bib, .bbl, and .tex files. TeX files can contain references or name local bibliography files. Compiled bibliographies explain which checks are available. • Filter errors and warnings, and save a report with the relevant entries. Checks run locally and leave your files unchanged. • Corrected free export eligibility: earlier free downloads, including free downloads of version 4, no longer automatically unlock unlimited exports. • Original paid app access is matched using the verified original version and acquisition date. Lifetime Premium purchases keep unlimited exports. • Cancelled saves and failed exports do not use the free allowance.

A redesigned interface and a smarter Figure Organizer. • New look: every tool now has a clean two-pane layout, with options and actions on the right and standard macOS controls in light and dark mode. • Figure Organizer now finds your figures automatically in the project folder, including \graphicspath folders, and shows which are found or missing. Locate a missing file in place, or drop files on the list. • One ZIP export with the renamed figures, the updated .tex, and the .bib files your document uses. • Choose whether figures go into a folder or next to the .tex. • Fixed: figures with the same file name in different folders, and references written without a file extension, are now matched correctly. • Each tool keeps its file and results when you switch tools. • Submission Packager: drop .tex, .bib, and .bbl files anywhere, and filter issues by severity. • Requires macOS 14 or later.

Online journal lookup now supports expanding unfamiliar abbreviations to full journal names, while keeping built-in mappings first. This update also improves handling of special characters in journal names, lookup cancellation, and privacy explanations. Online lookup remains optional and disabled by default.

Version 6.0 introduces major improvements for complex LaTeX projects, figure workflows, submission preparation, and in-app assistance. • Work confidently with complex nested projects. Figure Organizer and Submission Packager now follow active \input and \include commands from the root document, discover files across nested chapter folders, preserve project structure, and collect the figures, bibliography files, local style packages, and supporting assets needed by the manuscript. • Create more portable exports. Project-relative and absolute references are rewritten for the exported project, helping organized folders and submission packages compile independently from the original working directory. • Improved support for figures written as LaTeX. TikZ, PGFPlots, and other .tex drawing files loaded inside figure content are now recognized as figures, ordered alongside image figures, copied to the correct destination, and referenced using their exported names. • More reliable submission packages and ZIP exports. Folder and ZIP exports now use the same project-aware file discovery, with improved handling of nested paths, duplicate filenames, missing figures, figure numbering, and destination-name conflicts. • Expanded journal abbreviation coverage. Unknown journal names can optionally be checked using the online journal lookup service, while built-in mappings remain authoritative and document processing stays local. Unavailable or unrecognized journals are left unchanged. • A new native Help center provides searchable offline guidance for every tool, including complex projects, .tex figures, ZIP exports, missing files, BibTeX and Biber workflows, Premium restoration, privacy, and contacting support. Contextual help is also available from the question-mark button in each tool. • Includes additional stability improvements, clearer diagnostics, safer export behavior, and fixes for project paths and supporting files in deeply nested manuscripts.

Thanks for using LaTeX & BibTeX Tools. This update refines the submission and export experience, improves handling of TeX-based figure inputs in figure workflows. It also includes stability fixes and small interface polish.

What's New in 5.6.2 This update makes the Submission Packager more reliable when preparing your manuscript for submission. Fixed: cleanup no longer inserts a stray space where a line ended with % (LaTeX line-continuation). Fixed: a single-line verbatim/lstlisting block no longer causes the rest of the document to be mis-processed. Fixed: manuscripts with more than one \bibliography{} command are now handled correctly (no duplicated bibliography). Improved: Run Checks now also validates cleveref links — \cref, \Cref, \crefrange — and comma-separated lists like \cref{fig1,fig2}. New: optional "Remove \todo notes and review annotations" toggle to strip leftover \todo/\missingfigure markup before packaging (off by default).

Fixed handling of TeX-based figures in Figure Organizer.

What’s New in 5.6.0 This update improves the Submission Packager for more real-world LaTeX projects, especially manuscripts that use generated figures, TikZ/PGF figures, or journal-ready ZIP exports. Improved ZIP export reliability for submission packages. Added support for figures built from external .tex files, such as TikZ or PGF-based figure sources. TeX-based figures are now renamed in the same clean Fig1, Fig2, Fig3 order as image-based figures. Submission bundles now automatically include TeX figure source files referenced from figure environments. Exported manuscripts now rewrite TeX figure references to point to the packaged files. Added clearer missing-file detection for TeX-based figure assets. Added new test coverage to protect Submission Packager figure ordering and export behavior. Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where exporting a Submission Packager bundle as a ZIP could fail even though normal folder export worked. Fixed an issue where figures inserted with commands like \input{Figures/example.tex} could be missed from the exported submission bundle. Fixed an issue where TeX-based figure references were not renamed or rewritten consistently with normal figures.
