AutoMiles stays free — every feature, unlimited drives, no paywall. New in this version: if you would rather not see ads, an optional AutoMiles Ad-Free subscription turns them off. That is all it does; nothing is locked behind it. You will find it just above the banner and under Settings › Ads. Terms, privacy and support links now open inside the app instead of switching you to the browser. Also under the hood: address search and maps now run through our own service, so we can keep them fast and reliable without waiting for an app update.

Your deduction now counts only the drives you confirmed. Auto-classification still labels every drive as it is saved, but a label it is not confident about waits in your review queue instead of counting as a finished business mile — one tap each, and your corrections still teach it. New installs outside the US now start in kilometres where the country uses them. Starting a drive by hand no longer dead-ends when location access is off — the app offers to turn it on and picks the recording back up.

This update refreshes our App Store details — the app works exactly as in 1.3.0, which added: Multiple vehicles: add your cars and every drive is tagged with the one you were in. Reports for any month or quarter: export a summary for a single month or quarter, not just the whole tax year — the right period for quarterly estimated taxes and monthly reimbursement claims. Early each month, the home screen offers last month's report. Drive thumbnails now draw instantly and turn into the real map once you open a drive. Also: smoother address search when adding a drive, and fewer repeated ad requests. Fixed: an export ad watched to the end could still be counted as skipped when the reward arrived late.

Walks are no longer mistaken for drives. Recording now starts only on real driving signals: a vehicle reading must come with driving speed, one stray GPS speed spike is ignored, and walking away from your parked car no longer begins a new trip. Also fixed: a background-tracking crash on Android 12+ that could stop drive detection until the app was reopened, and the Android notification could claim a drive was being recorded while AutoMiles was only watching.

Exporting your report is now far more reliable. • The export ad loads earlier and gets the time it needs to arrive — no more giving up on an ad that was seconds away. • If it still is not ready when you tap Export, AutoMiles now offers to continue the moment it becomes ready, instead of leaving you to guess when to retry.

Instant drive pickup is now the default: recording starts the moment you begin driving, the way it did before battery optimizations — and your trips contain only real, measured GPS points. Prefer longer battery life? Low Power Mode in Settings keeps the savings, with the tradeoff it has always described: detection may start a little later.

Longer battery life between drives. • AutoMiles now eases off the GPS while your car is parked and switches to full accuracy only once you are actually driving. Your trips are recorded exactly as before — the app simply stops working so hard in between. • The Live Activity and trip notification now update on a steadier cadence while you drive, instead of refreshing every few seconds. • Fixed: exporting a report could fail because the ad never finished loading, leaving no way to get past it.

Your deduction, done properly. • The IRS changed the standard mileage rate mid-year — 72.5 cents through 30 June, 76 cents from 1 July. AutoMiles now prices each mile at the rate in force on the day you drove it, so the second half of 2026 is no longer under-counted. • Your home screen now leads with your estimated deduction, for this month or the whole tax year. • New tax region setting: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, or your own custom rate and currency. AutoMiles picks your region automatically on first run. • Jump to any month in your drives list from the new sticky month bar — it shows each month's drive count, distance and estimated deduction. • Exports and per-drive amounts now follow the same rates, so your CSV and PDF reports match what you see on screen. • The home button now says what it does — Add drive, Start drive or Recording — so you can add a drive by hand without turning automatic detection off. • Fixed: starting a manual recording while auto detection was already logging the same drive could save it twice.

• AutoMiles now speaks Spanish and Korean — the whole app, not just the store page. • New quick start: turn on automatic logging in two taps, and drives log themselves. • Smarter detection: golf carts and other low-speed vehicles are no longer logged as drives. • Stability fixes throughout.
