Short films to watch A new shelf at the top of Home: animated short films by independent artists, chosen one by one. Each film downloads the first time you play it. Every artist is credited on the card, in the player and under You → Film credits. Free every week Every Monday, three whole stories and one short film open for everyone. The following Monday they go back to the subscription and others take their place. On Mondays, the bedtime reminder names the stories that have just opened — still one reminder a day, at the hour you chose. In many more languages Magic World is translated by hand into seven languages. It can now be read in many more — Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Indonesian and others — translated on your device the first time you choose them in You → Language. Narration remains in English for now. Also in this version – Turning the bedtime reminder on or off, or changing its time, in You now takes effect straight away. – Films play with sound even when the iPhone is set to silent.

Three stories free, every week Every Monday, three whole stories open for everyone, all four chapters of each. On the following Monday they go back to the subscription and three others take their place, so the free shelf is never the same for long. The three that used to be free for good now take their turn with the rest. Monday's reminder If you use the bedtime reminder, on Mondays it names the three stories that have just opened. It is still one reminder a day, at the hour you chose, and nothing else. Also in this version – Turning the bedtime reminder on or off, or changing its time, in You now takes effect straight away. Before, only the choice made during setup counted. – This week's free stories carry a "Free this week" badge, and their narration downloads ahead of time, so they play without a signal.

Seven languages Everything in the app now reads in English, Português (Brasil), Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano and العربية — including every story title, summary and chapter name. The narration stays in English for now. Pick one in You → Settings, or leave it on System to follow your phone. Arabic lays out right to left throughout. Room on bigger screens Covers, shelves and the reading column grow with the screen instead of staying phone-sized. On a wide screen a story's cover sits beside its chapters rather than above them.

Magic World is now a much smaller download. • Faster install: the app takes up far less space on your device. • The three free stories come with the app, narration included, so the first bedtime story works right away, even with no signal. • Other stories download their narration the first time you open them. After that, they play with no connection needed. • You can start reading while the narration downloads. The words are there from the first second. • No connection? The app tells you and lets you try again, and you can keep reading in the meantime.

Magic World has been rebuilt from the ground up. Same name, same stories, an entirely new app underneath — rewritten natively for iPhone and iPad. It opens faster, uses far less battery, and works with no signal at all. WHAT'S NEW - Fifty original stories about magical animals, four chapters each — about fifteen minutes a tale. - Every chapter is narrated out loud, and the words light up as they're read. Follow along, or just listen with your eyes closed. - Original cover art for all fifty stories, each one with its own quiet animation. - A library you can browse by habitat, with favorites and a shelf that remembers exactly where you stopped. - A record of the creatures you've met and the realms you've visited. Nothing expires, and nothing is lost by not opening the app. - One optional reminder a day, at the hour you choose. No streaks, no daily goals, nothing to protect. - Three stories are free to read right away. FOR PARENTS Anything that costs money or opens a web page asks a grown-up to answer a question first. Your child's name, their favorites and how far they've read stay on this device. Already subscribed? Open the You tab and tap Restore purchases.
