Choose Like Buddha: Mindful
Daily mindfulness practice
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Make calmer, wiser choices — every day.
Most of us know the mindful response.
We just don't choose it in the moment.
Choose Like Buddha is a few quiet minutes a day. No lectures, no theory, and no score.
A DAILY PRACTICE, NOT A QUIZ
Each day gives you a handful of short, real situations. The music from next door starts again at eleven. Someone states something you know is wrong, in a meeting. Your brother's business plan has a hole in it, and he's excited.
Two options. Both are ones a thoughtful person might pick. Neither is marked correct, because in real life neither is. If the situation didn't come up for you, say so — that counts as nothing at all.
FIVE THREADS OF PRACTICE
Right Speech — sparing them, or telling them
Kindness — softening it, or letting it land
Patience — waiting, or pressing
Letting Go — setting it down, or keeping it live
Mindfulness — letting it pass, or marking it
Each is a real tension rather than a virtue to score.
SEE WHERE YOU ACTUALLY LEAN
Patterns is the part most people stay for. It places you between a concept's two poles — one mark for what you would do, another for what you did — and shows the distance between them.
Most of us predict we'll be more patient, or more honest, than we turn out to be. Patterns shows that gap instead of hiding it. It is a mirror, not a scoreboard, and there is no number to raise.
ASK BUDDHA
Describe any real situation and get a considered perspective drawn from Buddhist teaching. Not a therapist, not a chatbot performing wisdom — a calm second opinion when you need one.
FOUR BREATHING TECHNIQUES
Sama (Box), Ānāpānasati, Mettā, and Vase breathing — guided rhythms from the contemplative traditions, with optional haptics so you can keep your eyes closed.
On iPhone, completed sessions can be saved to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. Write-only: the app never reads your health data, and it's off until you turn it on.
REFLECTIONS
End a session with a written note if you want one. They're kept as an archive you can read back — the part of practice that's usually lost.
STREAKS AND BADGES
27 mandala badges for returning, for breathing, for reflecting, for asking. Each one a unique mandala struck into a medallion.
QUIET BY DESIGN
No ads, ever. No account required — start as a guest and keep everything. Your practice is yours.
FREE AND PREMIUM
The daily practice is the same on both plans. The Enlightened Path adds more Ask Buddha questions a day, your full Ask Buddha history, and all four breathing techniques.
Small daily choices, seen honestly, become a practice.

Ratings & Reviews
New in 2.0: the quiz is gone. A short daily practice instead, with no right answers — and Patterns, which shows the gap between what you would do and what you did.
