Touch a picture, hear the word in Somali, then in English. 100 first words for little ones, now with animal sounds. No ads, no subscriptions, no accounts.
First100: Somali for Kids is a talking picture book for the first words a child learns in Somali.
Touch a picture and it says the word. Touch the cow and it says "Lo'", then moos. Switch to English to hear every word in English too. A one-year-old can do it without help.
100 WORDS, 12 CATEGORIES
Animals, Colors, Family, Food & Drink, Body Parts, Numbers, Actions, Nature, Feelings, Core Words, Home and Daily Words. Every word has its own illustration, and the families look like many Somali families.
MADE FOR SMALL HANDS
• Pictures speak the moment a finger lands, so a press-and-hold works as well as a tap
• Animals say their name, then make their own sound
• A one-word-at-a-time view with big arrows, for children who can't swipe yet
• Each category has its own color, so a child who can't read still knows where they are
• Big cards on iPad, sized for small hands
MADE FOR PARENTS
• Animals, Colors, Family and Food & Drink are free: 36 words to try
• One purchase unlocks all 12 categories. You pay once. There's no subscription.
• Press and hold any picture to save it to your own practice list
• No ads
• No accounts and no sign-in
• No third-party analytics or tracking
• Works without an internet connection
• Buying and settings sit behind a grown-up check, so a child can't reach them
