It also stopped flickering and starting over. • Open a picture while it is still downloading and the viewer joins that download instead of starting a second one. • A message written with no connection stays yours on screen, and one the server turned down can be queued again instead of only deleted. • A recording interrupted mid-sentence — a call, the app going away — is offered back instead of dropped. • New accounts are created in the language of the phone. Until now everyone became an English speaker, whatever their device said. • Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian are set in the app's own typeface again instead of a substitute. • A message that could not be translated says it is about credit, not that something broke. • A muted chat stays quiet when someone reacts in it, and a private chat no longer flashes "Chat without a name" before it knows who you are talking to.

This update brings polls to a chat — and makes the conversation itself steadier. • Ask a group something without typing it out. A poll is a message like any other: translated for each person into their own language, and you can take your answer back. • Polls can be forwarded and quoted, and a notification tells you the question that was asked. • The message list reuses its rows instead of only ever growing, so long conversations scroll without stuttering. • Nothing shifts under you any more: a bubble stops growing when its translation lands, and a tap on a quote takes you to the quote instead of snapping back to the newest message. • Voice commands are open to everyone, and the orb comes down to your thumb instead of sitting out of reach. • An upload that dies is finished rather than started over, and the progress bar stopped lying about the last percent. • Round notes and voice messages no longer fight over the sound: both duck the music, and both hand it back when nothing is playing. • "Online" now means someone is actually in the app, not just holding a connection open. • Reactions and replies share one shelf, the picker scrolls, and it remembers the ones you use. • If a purchase doesn't go through, the app says what happened instead of leaving you guessing.

This update is about the round video notes — and about nothing jumping around. • A note is translated in a real voice now instead of being read out by a robot, and it starts speaking while the translation is still being made. • The picture keeps running with the voice instead of freezing while it is prepared. • A note starts playing before it has finished downloading, and no longer cuts out near the end. • The ring around a note became a line of sound — you can see whose voice is playing and how much is left. • A forwarded note stays a circle, and so does a quote of one. • Messages stopped twitching: a change of status, a read receipt or starting the voice no longer changes the width of a bubble, and the chat header no longer shifts when the other person's status changes. • A voice that arrives late now plays instead of showing an error. • A message someone deletes disappears straight away, and deleting your own copy of a forwarded file no longer breaks it for everyone else. • The send button stopped losing taps.
