Every road you took, worth remembering. Tracks and stops recorded quietly in the background, even when your phone is locked. Your data stays in your own iCloud.
Every road you took is worth remembering.
Time Footprints records your daily tracks, stops and visits quietly in the background, then folds them into a timeline you can walk back through. No check-ins, no manual pins — live your life, and it remembers for you.
[FREE, FOREVER]
· Automatic recording: location, stops and trips organised for you; GPS pauses when you're stationary, so it doesn't drain your battery
· Today: one day's timeline, map and stop details
· Notes and moods: attach a sentence and a feeling to any stretch of road
· Footprint map: the places you've been, the regions you've reached
· Life Circle: where this day went, what changed this week
· Search and tags: find any record by place, tag or time
· Your data is yours: iCloud backup and restore, import/export, GPX export — all free, never behind a paywall
[PRO — ONE-TIME PURCHASE, NOT A SUBSCRIPTION]
· Full history: the free version shows the last 90 days; Pro opens the whole archive — older tracks and deep reviews (year overview, monthly heatmap, rhythm, stay ranking, place review, map review)
· Photo import: 10 per month on the free version, unlimited with Pro
[ABOUT OLDER RECORDS]
The 90 days on the free version is a viewing window, not a retention limit. Older records stay intact on your device — never deleted, never compressed — and are waiting for you whenever you upgrade. We don't delete your data to invent a reason to pay.
[PRIVACY]
Tracks, stops and notes are stored on your device and in your own iCloud. Location data is used only to build your timeline and stop analysis.
[A FEW NOTES]
· Location permission must be set to "Always" to keep recording in the background
· GPS pauses automatically when you're stationary and resumes when you move again
· Every figure can be opened up to see how it was calculated — no black boxes
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
This update focuses on two things: recognizing trips more accurately, and making your records easier to use.
• Export tracks as GPX files: pick a date range or any set of days, then import them into other map and fitness apps, or keep them as your own archive.
• Correct a trip's transport mode: long-press the leg that was detected wrong and set it to walking, cycling, driving, e-bike, or high-speed rail. Your correction survives recalculation.
• Better e-bike and high-speed-rail detection: two of the most commonly misread ways to travel now have their own rules.
• "This Day, That Year": if you travelled far from home on this day a year ago, you'll get a memory card for it.
• Interaction and UI: tap any point on the map to add a note or mark it as a frequent place, with geofences now visible; the Footprint tab adds quick ranges (today / 7 days / 30 days / this year / all); layouts are unified and the map pans and zooms more smoothly.
