A simpler Today's Light Every morning, one verse. Then, in plain words, what it means: who's speaking, who they were speaking to, and what the key phrase actually says. Then what it means for your day. A prayer you can pray as your own. And one line to carry with you. Five short screens over the day's painting or landscape. Under a minute. Different every day, without ever feeling like a system. Also in this version: • Prayer Maker shows each line as it's spoken, with pause, resume, and play again. • Selah's waves breathe with the room while you record. • A refined look across both, with better support for larger text and iPad.

- Today's Light now draws from 225 backgrounds — 144 sacred artworks and 81 photographs. Van Eyck, Botticelli, Rubens, Zurbarán, Perugino, El Greco, Memling, Correggio, Tiepolo, and Gerard David now sit alongside the landscapes, every piece from the open collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Wikimedia Commons. - A new control in Today's Light lets you pick sacred art, nature photography, or both. - The art from a past day now stays with that day forever. Look back a month and you'll find exactly what you saw. - Every artist named. Tap the credit to see the painting full, in its frame, whole — not cropped. - A smaller app. We rebuilt how the artwork is delivered, cutting the download by more than half. New art now arrives on its own, without waiting for an update. - Prayer Maker slows down. Prayers are read at a gentler pace, with a breath between thanksgiving, confession, and asking — and a longer pause before the Amen. - Selah reads better at any size. Recording recaps no longer crowd or clip when text is enlarged.

Every reader can now find the Deuterocanonical books — Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, and 1 & 2 Maccabees — right in the Bible tab, whatever translation you use. Choose your preferred edition for them (World English Bible, NLT Catholic Edition, or Douay-Rheims) with a single tap.

Updates to Prayer Maker to make it even easier to craft the perfect prayer

The Search tab is now Discover. Themed pages — love, fear, hope, peace, and more — each open into a focused reading view with a short reflection above the verses. Reading Journeys live here too. Search is still right at the top. Fixed a critical bug where certain chapters would fail to load.

A few small things. Settings got a quieter, more editorial layout that's easier to scan. Shared verse images now show the translation, and the parchment style was given a more refined italic.

The week in light A new history button on Today's Light gathers the past seven days in one place. Tap it on the Today tab to revisit anything you've missed.

A finer hand A careful pass across BibleKey. Cleaner type, calmer chrome, and the same warm palette in every corner. Same Word, just a finer hand.

A redesigned Bible tab Finding a passage is faster and quieter. A new way to share Today's Light Tap a verse and pick from three styles built for sharing — a photo poster, a devotional bookplate on cream paper, and a brutalist headline that punches one resonant word in color. Send it straight to Instagram Stories, save it to Photos, or share as text and image anywhere. Every style is hand-tuned with the right typography for the moment, so a verse you love is ready in seconds. iPad Optimizations BibleKey looks better than ever on larger screens.

The Today tab now keeps Prayer Maker and Selah together in one card, side by side. Tap left to pray about anything, tap right to capture a sermon. They're meant to be near each other, and now they are.
