Yamanote Rush
Drive a Tokyo Train in 3D
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Yamanote Rush is back, and it's gone 3D.
Take the controls of a bright green commuter train on Tokyo's loop line, the ring that circles the heart of the city. All 30 stations, at real distances, from the driver's seat. The job sounds simple: stop right on the mark, right on time. Easy, right?
STOP ON THE MARK
Every stop gets two ranks. STOP is how close the front of your train lands to the mark. TIME is how close you are to the timetable. Nail both for a double S. Overshoot the platform and the passengers will have words.
A NEW RUN EVERY DAY
Today's run is the same three stops for everyone, and you only get one go. Your score goes on today's Game Center leaderboard, so you can see how you stack up against drivers everywhere.
DRIVE IT FOR REAL (ISH)
• 11 cars with real braking physics. The brakes take a moment to bite, wheels slip in the rain, and every car behind you pushes and pulls.
• A coffee on the dash. Yank the lever and it spills.
• Speed limits, checkpoints, red signals, track workers and the odd surprise on the line.
• Morning, dusk and night, in sunshine and rain, with Tokyo lighting up as you go.
• Look around the cab: swipe the windscreen.
• Original departure melodies on the platforms.
• Nail a stop and a pigeon might land on your wiper to say well done.
COLLECT THEM ALL
Stop perfectly at a station to stamp it in your stamp book. There are 30 to collect, and new paint jobs for your train unlock along the way.
FREE RUN
Pick any station on the loop, choose the time of day and the weather, and drive.

Ratings & Reviews
Open it up! On iPad in landscape and on iPhone Duo, the cab gets a second page: the driver's view on the right, framed just as on a phone, and the whole line on the left, with the line map standing up, your next stop, a big speedo and today's run.
More lines to drive: collect stamps to unlock the Keihin–Tohoku (and its Rapid), the Saikyo, the Tokaido and, with all 30, the Airport Express, each with its own train, stops and announcements.
Plus platform doors on the new lines, tidier checkpoints and a few fixes.
