WHO IT IS FOR
Consultants, lawyers, clinicians, researchers, and anyone who takes notes under an NDA. If your client would object to their voice being processed by a third party, this app was built for your situation.
NO BOT JOINS YOUR CALL
Paperite records your microphone and whatever your Mac is playing. Nothing shows up in the participant list, nobody has to approve a notetaker, and there is no meeting link to hand over. You press record. That is the whole setup.
SPEAKER SEPARATION, ON DEVICE
Recordings are split by speaker so you can see who said what. Rename a speaker once and the whole transcript updates. Runs entirely locally, including on long multi-party calls.
ASK THE RECORDING
Afterwards, ask what was decided, what you committed to, or when a topic came up. Answers come back with timestamps into the audio so you can check them yourself. No API key, no cloud round trip.
TASKS IN APPLE REMINDERS
Checklist items in your notes sync both ways with Apple Reminders, with the sync state visible on every task. Complete it in Reminders and it ticks in your note.
A REAL EDITOR, NOT A TRANSCRIPT VIEWER
The transcript lands in a fast markdown editor with a slash menu, a heading jump, quick open across your whole library, and shortcuts that follow macOS conventions rather than inventing their own. Type during the meeting; let the recording fill in what you missed.
MARKDOWN FILES YOU OWN
Every note is a plain .md file in a folder on your Mac. Open them in any editor, back them up however you like, and take them with you if you ever stop using Paperite. There is no proprietary database holding your work hostage.
TIME TRAVEL
Save a named checkpoint at any moment, move back through the document's history, and compare versions. Ask what changed between two checkpoints without leaving the note.
WORKS IN YOUR LANGUAGE
English, German, Spanish, and French throughout, including transcription.
ABOUT RECORDING OTHER PEOPLE
Paperite records only when you start it and shows an indicator the whole time it is running. Whether you may record a given conversation is your call, in Germany and much of Europe, that means asking the other side first. Paperite gives you a recording that never leaves your Mac. It does not give you permission.
PRIVACY
Paperite collects nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter phoning home, and no server for your audio to reach. Check the App Privacy section on this page — it says Data Not Collected because that is accurate.
REQUIREMENTS
Recording, transcription, and the on-device models need an Apple Silicon Mac on a supported macOS version.
