Bug fixes and performance improvements

What's New in 1.3.0 -Mostly nerdy stuff you don't care about :) -Improved data refresh reliability -Smoother transitions between app states -Refinements to weather detail displays -Enhanced background update handling -Bug fixes and performance improvements

What's New in 1.2.5 Faster Forecast Updates - Daily forecast now refreshes twice as often, timed to align with NWS Boulder Area Forecast Discussion (AFD) releases for the most comprehensive possible update Station Maintenance Alerts - When station hardware is being serviced, a maintenance alert now appears Bug Fixes & Performance - Over-the-air update support for faster future updates and bug fixes - Fixed rare notification delivery and content formatting issue - Fixed forecast data fields being dropped during SSE streaming - Fixed occasional weather icon selection issues

What's New in 1.2.2 NEXRAD Radar - Faster updates through partial volume rendering with new frames every 4 to 7 minutes instead of waiting for full volume scans - Smoother map rendering during pan and zoom with composited base layers - Improved visibility of light rain and snow with better reflectivity filtering - Regional view blends four NEXRAD sites using max-value compositing for seamless coverage - Graceful handling when a radar site goes offline. Stale sites are automatically excluded instead of showing frozen returns Lightning & Storm Tracking - Real-time lightning strike detection with distance, bearing, and cloud-to-ground vs intra-cloud breakdown - Push notifications when lightning is detected nearby - Storm threat cards showing severity, distance, ETA, and approaching/receding status - Hail threat detection with estimated size and probability Alerts - Official NWS color coding for all alert types - Sticky alert bar stays visible at the top of the screen when you scroll past active weather - Tap the sticky bar to jump back to full alert details Bug Fixes - Fixed composite gaps where a distant radar's weak returns overwrote strong precipitation from a closer site - Fixed fan-shaped stripe artifacts caused by canvas anti-aliasing on arc edges - Fixed historical radar overlay hidden behind the WebGL canvas layer Performance - SSE streaming eliminates repeated polling, reducing server load and battery usage - Forecast narratives use hash checks to skip regeneration when the forecast hasn't changed - Background widget refresh uses a single API call for all widget data

What's New in 1.2.1 Forecast - New forecast icon handling for windy periods - Improved precipitation logic with better validation against hourly data, reducing misleading rain/snow chances - Expanded quick-look stats including storm risk (SPC convective outlook) and fire risk indicators Severe Weather Alerts - Enhanced alert display with NWS-standard colors, priority tiering, and expandable descriptions - Smarter notification handling: High-priority alerts (tornado, severe thunderstorm) push immediately while advisory-level alerts respect quiet hours - Automatic deduplication prevents repeat notifications when NWS reissues alerts or upgrades watches to warnings NEXRAD Radar - Multiple layers of intelligent filtering strip out non-weather noise — ground clutter from terrain, false returns from birds and insects, and interference lines — so what you see is real precipitation, not artifacts - Each radar site uses a terrain profile learned from hundreds of past scans to suppress persistent mountain and building returns Historical Charts - Improved graphing with smoother curves, gradient coloring, and better peak/extreme detection across all time ranges (24h through 1 year)

Expanded NEXRAD Radar Added three new radar sites: Cheyenne (KCYS), Pueblo (KPUX), and Grand Junction (KGJX), plus a new Regional Composite that merges all four NEXRAD sites into a single view. Switch between sites with the dropdown. Browse historical radar by date to review past precipitation events.
