Mac
Built for freelancers and makers who need to know where their time goes. Track by project, by client, by activity. All from your menu bar. Try free for 7 days.
Stop guessing where your time goes.
Grid Time Tracker is a lightweight menu bar app for freelancers, entrepreneurs, and anyone juggling multiple projects. One click to start tracking. Zero interruptions while you work.
TRACK WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT
Start a timer from your menu bar, assign it to a project and activity, and get back to what you were doing. The menu bar icon shows when you're tracking at a glance. Sessions recover automatically if your Mac crashes, sleeps, or restarts. No data lost.
ORGANIZE HOWEVER YOU WORK
Create projects for clients, business areas, or however your brain organizes things. Break them into activities like development, meetings, or admin. Rename, reorganize, and restructure anytime. Your workspace adapts to you.
SEE THE FULL PICTURE
Beautiful charts show exactly where your hours go. Heatmaps, bar charts, and pie charts help you spot which clients drain your time, which activities dominate your week, and where you might be undercharging. Customize the color theme to match your style.
STAY ON TRACK WITH SMART CHECK-INS
Optional reminders ask if you're still working on the same activity, so you don't accidentally log hours on the wrong project. Customize the interval or turn them off entirely.
OWN YOUR DATA
View your complete session history. Manually add or adjust entries. Export to CSV, JSON, or TXT in your preferred time format. Share charts with a one-click screenshot. Nothing is locked away. All data stays on your Mac — we never transmit your tracking data to our servers.
BUILT FOR YOUR MAC
Follows your system theme with full light and dark mode support. Native menu bar app — no Dock clutter, no browser tabs, no Electron. Feels native because it is.

What's New in 1.2.2
- Fixed a rare issue where Grid could quietly quit while idle in the menu bar. Grid now keeps running reliably in the background, no more disappearing when you step away.
- Exports now include precise start and end timestamps (with seconds) for every session, giving you complete, portable ownership of your time data.
